Complain = Pain

Scientists say: “Neurons that fire together, wire together.”
Some of you have read lessons, or messages, where I talk about the negative aspects of complaining. Here is an article which goes into it in depth, gives some practical solutions -- and supports what the angels already know! The angels always say that Complain minus the letter L = pain. L stands for Love. When LOVE is lacking, so are we. Lack of love in our lives, in our actions, always leads to pain. I reprinted the whole article here for you, and here is the link, if you want to visit the page yourself: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/

How complaining rewires your brain for negativity

Good Morning!

Good Saturday Morning Teacher and Classmates, and thank you all for being here, for joining me in my morning cup of coffee, strong black, no cream, no sugar. I feel good knowing some of you might be here with me this morning, sharing these words, discovering Truth, walking the spiritual path with me. I like the newly decorated classroom. Is this your painting, Indira? I am already looking forward to Lesson 100. I can't believe I have so many lessons, and there is always another one waiting for me, just around the bend. Gratitude to all of you, to this moment I am in, to the classroom, to the sky, to the birds singing, to the walk I am about to take. -Kevin

Commune With Your Own Dear Soul!

Good Morning My Dears,
Thought I'd stop by & commune. With the angels. With you. With my own Soul. Have you ever thought of communing with your Soul? Have you ever thought that your soul needs communing with? Do you know what it means to commune? The dictionaries tell us:

1. To converse or talk together, usually with profound intensity, intimacy, etc.; interchange thoughts or feelings. to be in intimate communication or rapport: to commune with nature.
2. The sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings, especially when the exchange is on a mental or spiritual level.

Your own dear soul yearns to commune with you. It
calls to you from within, 'Come to me, nurture me, give to me, teach me, learn from me, yearn for me, as I yearn for you, let me be your dearest love, as I am yours, be with me, as I am always with you.'

Yes! Your own dear soul yearns for you. It is like a flower in a garden that needs you to nurture it, quench its thirst, talk to it, affirm its beauty and worth. The soul begins as a seed that God or the Universe plants inside you. This is the way of the Universe. It is how your soul begins, many lifetimes ago. For some, for those who have daily watered and attended to this seed, it begins to sprout, a tiny green shoot, full of all the potential of Life -- real Life. This is the life which the great Teacher Jesus told us that he came here to give us: Life . . . and Life more abundantly! Why would he need to give us life, if we already had it? That is a good question for you to ask, to ponder, to find the answer that resonates deep within you.

I will leave you with this question for now. I am due to write a new lesson soon. It will be Lesson 100. This is the start of that lesson. For those of you who have far to go before you reach that lesson, you now have the above question to ponder, to find where it leads you. You see where writing has led me? Had I not taken the time to commune here, none of these words would exist right now. I could continue writing about the soul now, but then I'd have pages and page before long--I'd have a whole new lesson!

Keep coming back. There is always more to learn, another way to evolve in the school of angels, so that we stop revolving on the wheel of karma. We learn how to love and nurture our own dear soul, so that it can love and nurture us in return. We learn how to turn, like a bright green vine, away from the darkness, to the light of the sun that is always shining. All we must do is turn towards it. We must open our heart wide, like an open window, and let the Light in. Then your own dear soul will be illuminated with joy. It will be filled with gratitude because you have SEEN it.

Love as always,
your grateful teacher and classmate

Fire

Although I say I come from Jamestown, NY, I actually grew up in the small village next to it, Falconer, though I moved to Jamestown as an adult, and my mom lives there now. There was just a big fire in Falconer, which destroyed several buildings which are over a century old, which is old for the USA, though not for Europe. We think we are so in control and yet we don't even know what is going to happen 3 minutes from now. We do not want our homes and towns to be burned away, but we do want the ego to be burned, purified in the fire of Truth. You can see the video of the fire here: https://www.facebook.com/steve.trapani.1/videos/1435913369772238/?t=0

Coffee, Coffee everywhere...

Hello,
I was just reading something and thought I would share it with you. Not that I am advocating Starbucks or any sort of drink, but I like the message -- which is not to be too hard on ourselves, to realize that we are on earth to have fun in the moment we are in. I highlighted in blue the part I like best.
"Now, if you're the type to indulge in a decadent concoction like Starbucks' Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino once every couple of months with a good friend or two, so long as your body isn't clearly distressed from these occasional treats, who's to say that the good vibes that are generated from occasional happy outings with your besties don't outweigh the potential stress that such treats place on your endocrine system? As I like to say, it feels a little inconsequential to strive to be healthy just to be healthy; good health is best sought to allow for a life that is abundant in love, gratitude, and meaning, right?
The idea is to be sensibly balanced with our daily choices, and to be aware that if we choose to drink coffee, we need to be moderate in quantity and choose the best quality available." Dr. Ben Kim

Art

STUNNED INTO SILENCE

Words strung together in wondrous ways become works of art. Everything is a color that comes from the light that comes from God. Wise and wonderful words are colors angels use to paint the pictures God wants painted. Meaningful words strung together in an artistic way can have the effect, not only of educating the mind, but also of stunning it into silence. This is one reason why the same ideas are repeated in these lessons, and in life, by so many teachers of wisdom.
There is art, and there is the observation of art. Moments of perfect art—a sunrise, a birth, a melody—can have the effect of stunning the mind into silence. In such moments, the separation that is at the root of suffering vanishes.
So you can see that everyone experiences moments of perfect art, moments of enlightenment, moments of complete absorption when ego disappears. These moments can also happen when we are completely absorbed in work or play. Children easily enter into imagination, becoming one with whatever game they are playing. Since we were all children once, we all have this ability, even if we have forgotten it. It is meditation. It is unison. It is peace.
Angels are always completely absorbed in the moment. This is why we say that an angel with a job is like a child at play.

PRECIOUS BEING

Why not think of yourself as precious today? Now. Why not think that you are of great value. That your life is not to be wasted or treated carelessly. That you are greatly loved, even treasured. By the angels. By God. Yes. The Great Universal Energy that created you loves and treasures you. You are the treasure of God. You are precious in God’s perfect vision. You are love and you are loved beyond all measure. Now. As you are.

Relationships

Relationships are important to all of us, right? Yes, because we live within relationships everyday. The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives. Here is a link about relationship that are formed in unhealthy avoidance. You may find it interesting. Do you fit the pattern, either as someone who avoids intimacy, or has relationships with people who avoid intimacy? Either way -- you end up in the same situation -- without a close and intimate loving relationship. This happens most often with partners, but it can also happen with other people in your life. You can read more about this, if you like: https://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-29315/why-you-should-never-date-an-avoidant-what-that-actually-means.html

QUOTE

The nature of the soul is to gather on its way all that it can gather and to make a mold out of it. The attributes of the lower world become so clustered around the soul that it almost forgets its very first experience of itself, its purest being. In the angelic sphere the soul attracts angelic atoms, in the djinn sphere it attracts djinn atoms, and on earth, physical atoms. Thus mankind is clothed in the garb of an angel, of a djinn, and of a human being. But when he sees himself in the garb of a human being without seeing the other garbs, he believes he is a human being. -Hazrat Inayat Khan

ANGELS LOVE...

Do you know that angels love all kinds of weather? Angels are not dependent on the sun for light, as we are. Angels shine with their own light! You shine with your own light too. When you are living from your heart, even the most somber winter day can seem warm and peaceful—because real peace is independent of any experience. Even the most somber moment can be filled with peace—because peace is the backdrop upon which everything is written.

🎵 More Laughter 🎵

Dear Students & Classmates -- I found this to be very humorous and maybe you will too. I am including LAUGHTER more often in our Schoolroom because it is so important to take life as lightly as we can -- because then we are in tune with our real nature, which is -- well -- uh -- LIGHT! Laughter benefits body, mind, and spirit at every level -- so laugh when you can. All love always.

Gratitude

Thinking about some ideas from our lessons. One is gratitude. The other is writing, which we are often asked to do. So I decided to use the Open Classroom to (1) write, and (2) express Gratitude. I invite my classmates to write and gratitude, along with me, in the comments, on a regular, or whenever you get some time. There's always time for gratitude, isn't there? I am committing to myself to show up here with gratitude. Today I am grateful that I was given this idea. I am also grateful for the school and for each of you. Love, Kevin

Guided by Higher Intuition

Throughout your day, take time to be aware of your breath. If you notice that any unpleasant emotion has crept into your psyche, meet the sensation with intelligence. Stop everything and give it your full attention. Ask, “Why is this feeling here? Does it have a message for me? Is it an old habit, unrelated to the present moment? What can I learn from this?” When you meet any situation with calm intelligence, it looses its power over you. -From your lesson, "Guided by Higher Intuition"

Create!

Create! Write. Draw. Paint. Scribble. Sculpt.  Release the dust of everyday life so it does not accumulate and choke you. It's not about being perfect. The idea of perfection is a wall that stands in the way of freedom.

Laughter

Thought you might enjoy some laughter. This cartoon is intriguing, is it not? It is humorous because it deals with the unordinary. Without the 2nd line, it wouldn't be funny at all. Or intriguing. The unexpected gets our attention.

For Your Health

Dear Students, I am posting this new way to drink coffee. I've been drinking it this way and it really is amazing. I feel energized and satisfied. Sometimes I add also Kerrygold Irish grass fed butter. And honey. And cinnamon--good for keeping blood sugar levels normal. If you try it, let me know how you like it! Have some with your morning Open Classroom. Smile.

P.S. I grind my own organic coffee beans and use a French Press.

Words

Be careful of your words!
You can no more take back something you've said than you can pull a knife out of someone and pretend you never shoved it in.
