Let God In

A human believes that he is supposed to create his own feelings, his own life. That is all most of us have been taught from childhood by other humans that have done the same thing. It's all they have ever known so they pass it on to their children. But look what it has brought the world, and himself or herself, to. This world, and the people in it, are not right, not what it was supposed to be. How could it be? Would an omnipotent intelligence for good ever create such a world? People took a wrong turn.

The wrong turn is that we were never supposed to create our own feelings and our own life. We were supposed to let God teach us, show us the way. We did not do this and what we have is the result. Still, it's available to the person who wants to do this. God did not abandon anyone that wants to live the life he wanted to give us. You can still do this but you must leave this sick world inwardly, psychologically, and allow God, Truth, Reality, to show you the way out. Few will, but you can.

We are what we feel, moment to moment. Have you ever looked at the way you feel, the cause, source of your feelings, instead of just feeling them? Do you understand the cause of your feelings? Which are negative and which are not? Can you classify, know, a right higher feeling and a lower, destructive feeling?

We are not a time being, as much as we like to think we are. That is the life we created for ourselves. We do not have a past and a future, we simply believe, think, we do. Thinking about the past, the future, creates the illusion that there is such a thing. You are a new being, every second, that has no connection to even the last five seconds, other than the fact that you can think about the last five seconds. Is there a requirement that you do so? Where is it written that you must do so?

Does true life exist in those last five seconds, or is it right now, in this present moment? How can you ever have a new life, if it's never new?

What is happening inside of you, right now? Does a right feeling, from God, Truth, Reality, come from the outside world and enter you, or does it come from what is inside you, without the influence of the outside world?

The spiritual world is not outside of you, it's inside. We are put on the earth to see if we will free ourselves from the outside world's sickness and influence, and look inside to find what is waiting for us to find it, which is God himself. The Truth wants us to find it, but it is not where everyone is looking. It is INSIDE of you, not out there. Nothing outside of you can do it. Trying to be a good person cannot do it, because you cannot be a good person without finding God within first. In fact you can never be a good person, but you can let the goodness of God live through you.

Truth does not fear the outside world, because it can't touch it. The Truth within is stronger than anything in this physical world. You are a spiritual being. If you were your body and thoughts, how can you ever be free of fear, because you know your body and thoughts come to an end one day. But if you don't find the Truth within, which can never die, you will always live in fear. God, Truth, Reality is always now, and that is why you can always have a new life right now, completely new, because is it never in the past or the future, it can't be, that is only the movement of memory, which must come to an end.

You must throw out the negativity that has entered your body, system, so that you can receive higher feelings, feelings that you have never had, because all you have is negativity now. Feelings that you don't create. If you do that, then it's not from the spiritual world. Why do we do that? You look out at the outside world and think you have to change it, make things right, in order for you to feel good. You don't. You don't need the outside to be right, you need the INSIDE of you to be right. This is not dependent on the outside world. It is only dependent on finding the inner world of God. If you are afraid right now, you have not found it. Fear is impossible when living in the spiritual world that can exist inside of you. If you are afraid, you have not found it.

You are afraid, because you are still looking for something outside to do it. Even if the world was perfect, you would still be afraid, because you are still a 'this world being'. A thought being, a time being, because of your belief in your personal past and future, which is an illusion. Why don't you trust God to know what he is doing, and go to work inside of you instead? God did not put us at the mercy of this world, he put us here to find him, and in doing so, eternity.

The world does not need to be fixed, you need to be fixed. But we don't allow it because we always live in negativity. Fear, anger, confusion, which creates a lost feeling. You are lost, and that is why you are afraid. Allow yourself to be found by something that comes from the inside of you.

What are the emotions, feelings, that pass through you all day long? Do you look and see them, or just feel them? And in doing so allow those feelings to control all the negative thoughts that those feeling manifest inside of you, from moment to moment. This feeds those feelings and so take you over. An unconscious, feeling, machine. No higher insights, which is the way out.

So turn your attention from the outside, to the inside of you. Study you. Don't try to fix you, study you. This requires observation, something that IS from the higher world. Quit thinking, quit trying to figure out. Don't see, and fix. Just see. The fact that you try to fix you is why it never happens. A stream of thoughts cannot fix anything. A silent mind is the way out. That is achieved by inner observation, not by your mind. Look, don't talk, don't have opinions that you share. Don't share you, because that is the time self, which does not really exist except in memory.

Get out of you, become silent, except for practical purposes. No longer create your own feelings. If you do this then something will happen to you. You will see that God will begin teaching you. You will begin to get the life you were supposed to. Do not sacrifice yourself to this world.

Get out, and let God in. He will do so. He did not place you at the mercy of this world.

Lin Chi, Zen Master Story

One of the greatest of Zen masters, Lin Chi, used to say, ”While I was young I was very fascinated by boating. I had one small boat, and I would go on the lake alone. For hours together I would remain there.

”Once it happened that with closed eyes I was in my boat meditating on the beautiful night. One empty boat came floating downstream and struck my boat. My eyes were closed, so I thought, ‘Someone is here with his boat, and he has struck my boat.’ 

"Anger arose. I opened my eyes and I was just going to say something to that man in anger, then I realized that the boat was empty. Then there was no way to move. To whom could I express the anger? The boat was empty. It was just floating downstream, and it had come and struck my boat. So there was nothing to do. There was no possibility to project the anger on an empty boat.”

So Lin Chi said, ”I closed my eyes. The anger was there, but finding no way out, I closed my eyes and just floated backward with the anger. And that empty boat became my realization. I came to a point within myself in that silent night. 

"That empty boat was my master. And now if someone comes and insults me, I laugh and I say, ‘This boat is also empty.’ I close my eyes and I go within.”

Practical things

Deearest & Nearest,

This morning I woke up with an email message that T-Mobile had a data breach—which means my data was compromised, since I use T-Mobile for my cell phone. That meant that I had to get busy freezing my credit reports. And take other actions to help protect my data.

Is it how I wanted to begin my morning? Nope. But...

I took a few immediate actions, then stopped for breakfast. Paused to be still before doing more.

The world is always bombarding us with "things to do" — because the world created by man is a world of ego. That's all it can do. But no matter what the world sends, we do not have to respond from that same level. 

And we never have to feel like a victim  — poor me. We don't have to complain. We can accept what IS. And deal with it to the best of our ability.

When we struggle to hold on and maintain control — well, we struggle. And struggling is no fun. 

When you find yourself struggling, trying to maintain control — use it as a spiritual exercise. Look deep into yourself. Find out what is there.

You do not have to let victim personality, fear, and anxiety control you. You really don't. You don't have to keep trying to build up the false self. You really don't. 

With lots of love now and always...

• Hop happily down the street for no apparent reason
• Scream loudly when you see your friends

Watch your reactions

In an unhealthy relationship people are constantly reacting off each other’s reactions. When one person gets angry the other person gets more angry. Or hurt. When one person gets distant the other person gets angry, hurt, or more distant. The scenarios are endless and lead only to endless dramas. So be aware of your reactions. Notice when you are being controlled by reactions.

The ego cannot cure the ego!

...angels are terrible only to the ego. Angels seek not to destroy ... but to reveal ... to reveal your true nature ... what is "destroyed" -- your false self of lack, loss, fear, and limitation -- is revealed never to have existed at all -- what Remains is ... what Remains ... LIGHT.

Fire

Although I say I come from Jamestown, NY, I actually grew up in the small village next to it, Falconer, though I moved to Jamestown as an adult, and my mom lives there now. There was just a big fire in Falconer, which destroyed several buildings which are over a century old, which is old for the USA, though not for Europe. We think we are so in control and yet we don't even know what is going to happen 3 minutes from now. We do not want our homes and towns to be burned away, but we do want the ego to be burned, purified in the fire of Truth. EGO

Dem Ego mangelt es stets an Einfühlungsvermögen. Dem Ego mangelt an allem, was uns mit etwas Höherem verbindet.

Ego always lacks empathy. Ego lacks everything that connects us with something higher. 

hard lessons

I came across these words. They may be hard (for the ego) to read ... but the heart always longs for Truth. What is healing balm for the soul is an eraser for the ego. The ego (false self) is slowly and gradually erased whenever words of Truth are received and understood. The angels always tell us that words of Truth must be repeated over and over because the mind is so thick, so ingrained with false beliefs.

These words came to me today: "The trading of ego-gratification is the basis of most human relations, which uninformed humans call love and unity. A person who you think is the nicest, kindest, most loyal person on earth will abandon you instantly when: (1) You hurt his ego. (2) Cease to feed his ego. (3) Cease to serve his ego as much as someone else." - Vernon Howard

It is a great exercise for the soul to not turn away from people when they stop fulfilling our ego needs. For this, we must be astute enough to recognize when the ego takes offense or gets hurt. We cannot stop a reaction of pain, but we do not have to let that reaction of pain tell us how to live, how to act towards that person.

This is not so easy because pain speaks very loudly. The ego will insist that you take offense, get hurt, get even, turn away, get mad. The ego will insist on its own way, which is always the way of more pain. It takes a great deal of self-effort not to listen to the ego, but to the heart. It is great inner work when we can rise above the ego's demands. Life becomes less painful.

The angels say . . .

 you come to this place in life where there are fewer people you can talk to about what's most important because what's most important to them in something else, and still you must be kind and polite because that is the hallmark of a spiritual being: to be in the world as harmlessly as possible, without being of the world. 

to be of the world, is to be of the mental, emotional, and spiritual pain that permeates the world. It is to believe you are a mental, emotional, physical being, and nothing more. 

to be in the world, without being of the world, is to accept what is, what you cannot change, and let yourself be changed so that you can come into harmony with what IS. 

to be of the world means you are composed of what the world is composed of - and, no, we do not mean beautiful nature, beautiful Mother Earth -- we mean what man has made of the world. God created man in God's image. Man turned from that image -- turned from the Self, from Truth, Love, Reality -- and turned towards the outer.

the outer was hollow, empty, devoid of the fullness of God, and so the world man created was also empty. It was shallow, without substance. It was a mere image -- a delusion. Man threw a veil of maya over the world and called it good. 

and so separation was born. So ego was born. So the false self was born. God has told us that we should have no false images before God, but man in his arrogance and hubris, turned a deaf ear to all that was truly good, and continued to call bad good, and good bad.

and so confusion was born. And darkness fell upon the face of the earth and this is where man chose to dwell

now this darkness is strong upon the face of the earth -- a dark veil of maya -- through which human beings cannot see

if they could see, they would see that the veil is illusion. It does not exist. It is not there. Man cannot see this because his eyes are closed, even while he believes they are open. He is asleep even while he believes he is awake.

only by admitting, realizing, and eventually knowing -- I am asleep -- can man awaken -- this is a beginning, to say, acknowledge and eventually realize -- I am asleep -- for that is where the awakening can begin.

what does it mean to be asleep? -- to be unconscious and unaware -- to believe one is good when one is bad -- to believe one thinks only of others best interest, when one thinks only of self-interest -- to believe one does good, when one does not. It means the inability to look into one's own darkness and see the selfishness there, the anger and hatred, the fear and anxiety, the total lack of surrender to God.

are these hard words? They are hard only for an ego wanting to hold onto its false image of itself as true, good, and lasting. For the true self, these are soft words. Gentle words. Opening the heart words. Truth always opens the heart.

the ego or false self will use these words to contract, close up, go into itself in suspicion and anger, to go more into darkness. The real self will use these words to SEE - to watch the ego closing up -- the true self will watch carefully -- and learn all the dark ways of the ego -- and it will know . . .

Neti! Neti! Not this! Not that! I am not that. That is not my true nature. That is darkness masquerading as light. That is badness pretending to be good. That is a false invader in my life, trying to persuade me that it is I. It is not I. I am not that. Neti! Neti!

I  AM. Always and forever, before the beginning of time, I AM. Time can cease. Time can come to an end. I never can. Truth IS.  Eternal. Without beginning or end. And so it IS. And it is Good. It is God.

Dearest One, Angels never forsake you. God never fails you. Human beings may fail you because they are governed by human egos. You may fail yourself because you also have a human ego that has a great deal of control over your life.

     The 'you' that controls your life is not usually the true and loving you, but the false and unloving you. This is the ego. It is everything you are not. This is why you are incarnated on earth, to rise above the false self into your true self. Then you are in heaven

Petra, I appreciate that you so readily share your questions here in Your Open Classroom. This benefits other students also, who come here to read, even if they do not come to write.

You benefit most when you come out of "hiding" and are willing to share your confusion and questions, as well as insights and answers, here in the Open. Your OPEN Classroom.

I think you have found your answers as you wrote. This is part of the value of writing. There is a special energy that permeates this classroom. It is the energy of the angels, of Truth, of all students who come here, searching for answers.

dream

 it started with this horrible nightmare I had about an evacuation of the town we were living in. I'm not sure exactly why we were told to get on the lined up buses with one bag and leave everything else behind. The chaos was unforgettable Everyone was screaming and pushing and tried to leave with the first bus, even they were many buses standing by.I  told my husband that I noticed other people who clearly didn't do what they were told and just walked back to their homes. He wanted to take the next bus and I actually did as well. It was noisy and I couldn't even think straight. But something stronger kept me back...we stayed and I woke up sweating and very upset.

The nightmare followed me the whole day. But a few hours into the day I realized we stayed there in peace and I did exactly what my heart told me to do. My ego went on such a frantic outburst blaming me to be responsible for any harm to me or my husband. But my heart and instinct told me different. I realized there was no proof for safety at the end of the bus ride. The "egos" nightmare turned during the day into a  positive dream.

I know: thanks to our lessons I was able to analyze my nightmare and was able to understand what happened.

Breaking the silence of isolation

Dearest Students, there are times (as some of you have noticed) that I write privately to you. Some of you have expressed surprise and gratitude that I would take the time to do this. I cannot do it all the time, given the number of students in the School (outside of the Open Classroom).

The Open Classroom is where I answer most questions and keep in contact with you. It is also where you keep in contact with me (as well as each other). It is unlikely you will receive a private communication from me unless you post and comment here. Even if you have not received any private communication from me, I read everything you write here and this helps me to connect with you at deeply intuitive levels. Which means that when I feel called to do so, I can reach out to you both privately and here. I would prefer to have all of our communication be open to everyone, as there is truly nothing to hide, no story that is unique. However I understand and respect privacy.

One of the insidious forms the ego takes is ISOLATION. The ego thrives in isolation. In future lessons, I will reveal more of the many cunning tricks the ego uses to stay in control. One purpose of The Open Classroom is to help you come out of isolation - to recognize that your story is not so terrible that it must be hidden - that you must be hidden.

Here you have the possibility to speak your truth, even if your truth is false (the ego is always false). You have the possibility to come out of isolation. When you tell your simple human stories here, you give others the chance to relate to them, to understand that there is really only one story, told over and over again, in different ways.

In isolation, the ego thrives because it can hold onto its (false) story that it is special.

Remember that the primary function of the School is to bring into awareness that which was previously hidden from view. You are traveling a road from the darkness (of ego, ignorance, unawareness) to the light of Consciousness and Truth. This requires shining the bright light of awareness into every crack and crevice where the ego hides.
