Gratitude

Thinking about some ideas from our lessons. One is gratitude. The other is writing, which we are often asked to do. So I decided to use the Open Classroom to (1) write, and (2) express Gratitude. I invite my classmates to write and gratitude, along with me, in the comments, on a regular, or whenever you get some time. There's always time for gratitude, isn't there? I am committing to myself to show up here with gratitude. Today I am grateful that I was given this idea. I am also grateful for the school and for each of you. Love, Kevin

  1. Great idea, Kevin! Today I am thankful for the thunder I hear in the sky, meaning rain will come soon. I love the sound of thunder, the feel of the air, the rain. There was so seldom rain in Los Angeles. I am also thankful for this opportunity that you have provided to remind myself of what I am thankful for in this sharing atmosphere. I will see if I can find a way to keep this post at the top?? Not sure if I can.

  2. Thanks for joining the "gratitude game" Indira! Today I woke up being thankful that I woke up and could hear the birds singing. I am thankful for my hearing. Interesting how I never thought of that before, being grateful for something I never think about and normally take for granted.

  3. Hi Kevin, thanks for starting the gratitude game. I like thinking of gratitude as a game we can play. This morning I was sweeping and mopping the floors. I found myself thinking of you and gratitude. And I found myself being thankful I had the power and ability to mop the floors, especially as it is heating up and becoming more humid. I have to do a lot of sitting now because I am working on my taxes, so I let the cleaning be my morning exercise. My gratitude!

  4. Thankful for the rain again. Makes everything so green. Reminds me of a time I was in India, when the monsoons came - after the long hot dry brown summer - and I woke up to see that everything had turned green - more shades of green than I ever remember seeing - before or since - and it filled me with wonder.

  5. Today thankful for my body which so far is strong and healthy and allows me to be here on my spiritual path. Also appreciating these particular words from my current lesson (Precious Friend: #99) "Each soul has an equal opportunity to use the Schoolroom of Earth to evolve into love. You must not wait for someone else to make this great change from darkness to light. You must make it. Only as your light becomes brighter do you have the possibility to brighten the path for others. You can be a beacon of light in the dark forest of ego, but you cannot do this if your own lamp is not lit." Gives me understanding and encouragement to stay on the clear and simple way.

  6. Good Morning Whoever is reading this. I am thankful for this moment to write these words along with a cuppa coffee with coconut oil and spices. There is a loud sound outside, some sort of construction or lawn work -- though why in the rain, I don't know - so it is jarring on me a bit -- so I am glad I could close the window and now it is quieter -- ah, now it seems to have stopped -- making me really thankful! :)
