YOU DO NOT EXIST

YOU DO NOT EXIST

You are either of the Kingdom of Heaven or you are not. Sickness is not a part of wholeness.

Don’t believe in people. No human being exists at all! I don’t, you don’t. Labels exist, but no people exist.

You have a name, a body, the tone of your voice. You have education or none. You are American or British. All these are attributes but your attributes are not you. It is because you believe they are that you have every grief you have.

And I know you don’t understand this at all.

I know right now while I am talking to you that you are not you. You still think you are “you,” a distinct, separate person. You are not.

When you understand that all you are is a temporary vehicle for the expression of life, then things become clear to you. And you cease to ask wrong questions because you already have the answer.

Life, God, the Whole expresses itself for a certain period of time through a physical body. Then, after a while, when God ceases to express Himself, to send energy through that temporary time-body, it ceases to walk around. But at no time did God say that you are you, distinct and opposite from the people in the next house.

Wholeness, Oneness, is life without names. Please don’t believe names are anything but a temporary convenience. To have a body is only a temporary convenience which is animated by cosmic energy. When this is withdrawn, “you” don’t die because “you” were never born!

A body came into the world, but it wasn’t you. Because you were unenlightened, you thought it was you. And everybody else said it was, so you swallowed it. Cosmic energy came into the world, but it wasn’t you.

You swear you were born, so therefore you think you are going to die; you fear that “you” are not going to continue. The purpose of this class is to withdraw such false information that you have about yourself, which causes fear.

You fear for the extinction of this temporary house you walk around in. You thought that your house was real, that when your physical body was no longer animated and walking around, you died. “You” didn’t die. “You” were never born, except in imagination which you wrongly think is Reality.

You thought your name and experiences were real. Upon the extinction of the energetic animation of your physical body, all that you called yourself disappears. But it was never anything more than a collection of beliefs that your body housed for awhile; you don’t take it into eternity.

There’s no way you can die because you were never born. “You” don’t die because there’s nothing to go into eternity. Eternity has no birth or death.

The only reason you are afraid is because you’re identified with your name and experiences and want them to continue. But you know they won’t.

You’re sure that you are you. You are not.

The fear of death will vanish—and can only vanish—when you know that you were never born! Understand this. You will then know who you really are.

Krishnamurti

Krishnamurti

11/20/2019

Question: Why do you decry religion, which obviously contains grains of truth? Why throw out the baby with the bath water? Need not truth be recognized wherever it is found?

Krishnamurti: Sirs, what do you mean by religion?  Organized dogma, belief, rituals, worshipping any person however great, reciting prayers, repeating Shastras, quoting the Bible is that religion?

Or is religion the search for truth or God?

Can you find God through organized belief? By your calling yourself a Hindu and following all the rituals of Hinduism or of any other "ism", will you find God or truth? Surely, what I decry is not religion, not the search for reality, but organized belief with its dogmas and separative forces and influences.

We are not seeking reality, but are caught in the net of organized beliefs, repetitive rituals you know the whole business of it which I call nonsense, because they are drugs that distract the mind from seeking. They offer escapes, and thereby make the mind dull, ineffective.

So, as our minds are caught in the net of organized beliefs with their whole system of authorities, priests and gurus, all of which are engendered through fear and the desire for certainty — as we are caught in that net, obviously, we cannot merely accept, we must enquire, we must look directly, experience directly, and see what it is we are caught in and why we are caught.

Because my great grandfather did some ritual, or my mother is going to cry if I do not do it, therefore I must do it?

Surely, such a man, who is psychologically dependent on others, and hence fearful, is incapable of finding out what truth is. He may talk about it, he may repeat the name of God umpteen times, but he is nowhere, he has no reality. Reality will shun him, because he is encased in his own prejudices and fears.

And you are responsible for this organized religion, whether of the East or of the West, whether of the left or of the right, which, being based on authority, has separated man from man. Why do you want authority, either of the past or of the present?

You want authority because you are confused, you are in pain, in anxiety, there is loneliness and you are suffering. Therefore, you want help from outside; so you create authority, whether political or religious, and having created that authority, you follow its directions, hoping that the confusion, the anxiety, the pain in your heart, will be removed. Can another remove your pains, your sorrows? Others may help you to escape from sorrow, but it is always there.

So, it is you who create authority and having created the authority, you become its slaves. Belief is a product of authority and because you want to escape from confusion, you are caught in belief and therefore continue in confusion.

Your leaders are the outcome of your confusion, therefore they must be confused. You would never follow anyone if you were clear, unconfused and directly experiencing. It is because you are confused that there is no direct experience. Out of your confusion you create the leader, organized religion, separative worship, which brings about the strife that is going on in the world at the present time.

In India it is taking the form of communal conflicts between the Mussalmans and the Hindus, in Europe it is the communists against the rightists, and so on and on. If you look into it carefully, analyze it, you will see that it is all based on authority, one person says this and another person says that. And authority is created by you and me because we are confused. This may sound oversimplified verbally, but if you go into it, it is not simple, it is extremely complex.

Being confused, you want to be led out — which means you are not understanding the problem of confusion, you are only seeking an escape. To understand confusion, you must understand the person who is making the confusion, which is yourself, and without understanding yourself what is the good of following somebody?

Being confused, do you think you will find truth in any practice or organized religion? Though you may study the Upanishads, the Gita, the Bible, or any other book, do you think that you are capable of reading the truth of it when you yourself are confused? You will translate what you read according to your confusion, your likes and dislikes, your prejudices, your conditioning.

Your approach, surely, is not to reality. To find truth, Sir, is to understand yourself. Then truth comes to you, you do not have to go to truth and that is the beauty of it. If you go to truth, that which you approach is projected out of yourself, and therefore it is not truth. Then it becomes merely a process of self-hypnosis, which is organized religion.

To find truth, for truth to come to you, you must see very clearly your own prejudices, opinions, ideas, and conclusions  and that clarity comes through the freedom which is virtue. For the virtuous mind, there is truth everywhere. Then you do not belong to any organized religion, then you are free.

So truth comes into being when the mind is capable of receiving it, when the heart is empty of the things of the mind. At present our hearts are full of the things of the mind; and when the heart frees itself of the mind, then it is receptive, sensitive to reality.

Find out for yourself what is True, otherwise it is a mere belief.

The original collection of these sayings, often credited to Mother Theresa, were actually created by a college student named Kent M. Keith and published in 1968 in a pamphlet titled “The Silent Revolution: Dynamic Leadership in the Student Council”. Here are the original expressions given in the pamphlet. Read it with an open mind and find out if what you read is true for you. Don't blindly believe. Lives are being destroyed by blind belief.

01: People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered. Love them anyway.

02: If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Do good anyway.

03: If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway.

04: The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.

05: Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway.

06: The biggest men with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men with the smallest minds. Think big anyway.

07: People favor underdogs, but follow only top dogs. Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

08: What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway.

09: People really need help but may attack you if you do help them. Help people anyway.

10: Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.

AWAKEN TO YOUR COSMIC RICHES

"HOW TO AWAKEN TO YOUR COSMIC RICHES"

The contrasting lives of two famous teachers show the difference between Forced Living and Easy Flow.

CONFUCIUS was an advocate of correct public behavior. He taught good manners, social reform, and submission to man-made moral codes. He offered shallow formulas for getting through life, admitting that his platitudes were borrowed from other men. The inner life of cosmic peace was unknown to Confucius; he himself was a victim of Forced Living.

LAO-TSE was the exact opposite. He cared nothing for the public parading of self-proclaimed virtues. He pointed out that human rules of conduct do not make men truly moral; to the contrary, they supply clever masks for hypocrisy and cruelty. As for living by popular slogans, they create mass misery and national neurosis. Lao-tse stressed individual effort toward personal freedom, teaching that happiness lies in a spontaneous outflowing of one's natural self. Lao-tse was himself a living example of Easy Flow."

Marcus Aurelius

Is it your reputation that’s bothering you? But look at how soon we’re all forgotten. The abyss of endless time that swallows it all. The emptiness of all those applauding hands. Marcus Aurelius

    • It is relieving, don't you think, to realize that there is nothing we must achieve according to the world's standards? Not reputation, fame, or fortune. Not even beauty or good looks. All of that is as dust in the wind. The only gold that is of lasting and peaceful value is  the shining gold of Truth...not gold which we can hold in our hand...but that which is held in the heart.
If we are bothered by our reputation  how other people see us...striving to "be" someone  there will be only pain. Our "reputation" may be so valuable to us  but what is it really? Our thoughts about other people's thoughts.
Everything is internal. We live in a thought world  a mental world  and call it real.
These teachings allows us to see beyond the mental constructs  to what is Real.

the Truth Teacher is within you

Spiritual teachings wake up the Truth within you. They do not create that Truth. Truth is not inherent in anything or anyone outside you. Truth exists within you. Spiritual Teachings can only point the way to the Truth Teacher within you. They cannot create that Truth.

Blind Belief

Again I remind you, do not take my word for anything. Find out for yourself what is true. Your school is not here to try to make you believe anything--but to find out for yourself what is true for you. You are here to give up blind belief. You are here to become your own best friend, your own best teacher, the final authority on what is true for you.

A story

According to a 19th century legend, the Truth and the Lie meet one day. The Lie says to the Truth:
Painting by Jean-Leon Jerome, 1896.
"It's a wonderful day today!" Truth looks up to the sky to find out for herself, and nods. The day really was nice. Truth and Lie  walk together and come to a well. Lie says, "How lovely the water is. Let's bathe together."

Truth tests the water and agrees it is the perfect temperature. So they undress and jump in. As they are bathing, Lie sneaks out of the water, dons the clothing of Truth, and runs quickly away.

Truth jumps out and chases him, so she can get her clothes back, but she can't find Lie. The world, seeing Truth naked, turns its eyes away in shame and contempt.

Truth returns to the lake and disappears there, hiding her nakedness. Since that time, Lie moves through the world dressed as Truth, satisfying the desires of society, because the World that man has created has no wish to meet the naked Truth.

Friendly not cruel

Truth is friendly, never cruel. God is friendly, never cruel. Angels are friendly, never cruel. The false is cruel:  False beliefs —false conditioning —false identification with the unreal. Love is friendly, never cruel. If it feels cruel within you, it can't be Love.

What do you want?

"Most people tell you they want to get out of kindergarten, but don't believe them. Don't believe them! All they want you to do is to mend their broken toys. 'Give me back my wife. Give me back my job. Give me back my money. Give me back my reputation, my success.' This is what they want; they want their toys replaced. That's all. Even the best psychologist will tell you that, that people don't really want to be cured. What they want is relief; a cure is painful." --Anthony De Mello - he was an Indian Jesuit priest and psychotherapist, spiritual teacher, writer and public speaker.

wise words

"Of what use is a philosopher who doesn't hurt anybody's feelings?" ~ Diogenes (pupil of Socrates)

Image result for sinopThose of you who have been in my seminars may have experienced your feelings being hurt, and heard me talk about that. We protect and defend our feelings as if they were our reality. They aren't. That's good to remember.

Intuition is not the same as feelings that are generated by the mind -- by thoughts. For example, you believe someone insulted you (and maybe they did) and you feel hurt. Whatever that person did, belongs to that person. Your reaction belongs to you. Your feelings are not based upon anything real. They are based upon what your thoughts are telling you to feel.

If a teacher is willing to tiptoe around you so that your feelings are not hurt, then the teacher is of no real use to you. Don't you want someone who will tell you the truth? Don't you? Doesn't it take so much energy to protect and defend your precious feelings? Wouldn't you rather use that energy for what is important and valuable?

Waking up to Yourself

The angels are calling you. They are calling you out of lack, loss, fear, and limitation. These exist in the physical world, but they do not have to live inside you. No matter what…no matter WHAT…you can…you CAN live a full and abundant life. You were not created from seeds of fear and limitation. You are created from seeds of love, joy, and wisdom. This is your truenature. You do not have to become this — you already are this. You must only realize this.

You have all the power within you to do what you must do each day, each moment, to realize that you are love. You are joy. You are wisdom.

So take the small steps you must take today. Try not to complain too much, no matter what your situation. When you catch yourself in lack, loss, fear, and limitation, step away from that into something new. Step into the next moment and let it become the present moment.

Do not be lazy today. Do not be a victim today. Do not feel sorry for yourself today. Do not think about yourself all day. Do not look through eyes of lack, loss, fear, and limitation. Just for today try this. Then try it again the next day. And the next.

Do what you must do. This brings courage. Courage is an energy. All there is, is energy. Do what you
must do today. This attracts courage to you. Courage is doing the small tasks of life, even when you are afraid, even when you do not want to.

Who else must complete your tasks? No one. They are yours. So do what you must do. Watch the
negative thoughts and emotions inside you, but do not give into them. This will lead you higher up the mountain of Truth. This will lead you to a life of wisdom, joy, and love. When you have wisdom, joy, and love, you live a life of abundance.

All love, the angels

Message for May 2, 2016

http://www.theclearandsimpleway.com/
The Clear and Simple Way School
°☆★°★●*
The next time you find yourself frustrated by anything at all, by something that isn’t working, something that is not going your way or the way it usually goes, stop, pause, take a breath. Calm yourself. Feel yourself in your body, touching the chair or the floor or the ground, and ask yourself, “What am I supposed to be learning right now? Is there a message here for me? Am I trying to force my will? How do I feel? Am I stressed and full of tension? Am I putting unnecessary strain upon my body, my mind, my heart? Am I supposed to be going another way, trying something new, letting go, or should I persevere?” And do your best to open to what you are not open to. Let yourself open to newness, and the moment will be new. Stress will vanish.

Much love from your friendly teacher and classmate

Have you read Lao Tzu?

One of my favorite Teachers from long ago. Born 601 BC, Died at Age 70 - 531 BC, Founder/Co-Founder of the Chinese philosophical ‘School of the Tao’ or ‘Taoism’ Lao Tzu created one of the most important Chinese texts, the Tao Te Ching.
  • If you realize that all things change, there is nothing you will try to hold on to. If you are not afraid of dying, there is nothing you cannot achieve.
  • He who defines himself can’t know who he really is.
  • Treat those who are good with goodness, and also treat those who are not good with goodness. Thus goodness is attained. Be honest to those who are honest, and be also honest to those who are not honest. Thus honesty is attained.
  • Give evil nothing to oppose and it will disappear by itself.
  • Do you have the patience to wait till your mud settles and the water is clear? Can you remain unmoving till the right action arises by itself?
  • Express yourself completely, then keep quiet. Be like the forces of nature: when it blows, there is only wind; when it rains, there is only rain; when the clouds pass, the sun shines through.
  • Care about people’s approval and you will be their prisoner.
  • New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings.
  • If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.

Ramana Maharshi Speaks on Death

The devotees know that Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi had an intense experience of death in his seventeenth year. After the experience ended, he was established in the realisation of his true Self and the illusion of death died forever. Here is in part Bhagavan’s description of what happened:

Nuclear Power -- Unclear Power

Hello Everyone,
Have you ever read any of the monthly messages on my website? Actually, I pretty much stopped writing them awhile back, but am updating them when I have a moment, since I like everything I write from the past to be fully polished in the present and I've recently updated my website. Have you seen the update? Hop on over when you get a chance, and let me know how you like it. Of course, I could always change it again...anyway, here is the message from April 2011:

What can we learn from the cataclysmic events, both natural and man-made,that have shocked & rocked the world in recent years?

The mind

It is only if there is a mind that the question of making it one pointed will arise. When you investigate by turning inwards, you find there is no such thing as the mind. ~ Sri Ramana Maharshi
