For Your Health
Dear Students, I am posting this new way to drink coffee. I've been drinking it this way and it really is amazing. I feel energized and satisfied. Sometimes I add also Kerrygold Irish grass fed butter. And honey. And cinnamon--good for keeping blood sugar levels normal. If you try it, let me know how you like it! Have some with your morning Open Classroom. Smile.

P.S. I grind my own organic coffee beans and use a French Press.

Seeing
Observe an object, for instance, a candle. See the candle. See what is
seeing the candle. Drop away the candle. What is left is that you are
seeing or observing what is seeing the candle. In other words, you are
aware of being aware. This is true self- remembering or self-awareness
avoiding the trap of illusory self-remembering.” -Sri Madhava Ashish
"There is such a way, open to all, on every level, in every walk of life. Everybody is aware of himself. The deepening and broadening of self-awareness is the royal way. Call it mindfulness, or witnessing, or just attention - it is for all. None is unripe for it and none can fail. But of course, you must not be merely alert. Your mindfulness must include the mind also. Witnessing is primarily awareness of consciousness and its movements." -Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

In case you were wondering....
You are not on earth to be "normal." You are here to learn what it is to be natural -- naturally you. Not unnaturally you. Not false you. Not trying to live up to anyone elses standards, even the standards of society ... maybe, especially the standards of society. Who set those standards?
This does not mean that you must not adhere to cultural norms and be a functioning part of the society you live in. We don't do things just to shock people or get attention. That's just more ego. We make our way calmly through life.
It means that you are not on earth to be a non-thinking reacting robot. You are not here to try to be something or someone or live up to the expectations of society. You are here to become. Become what? Become what you naturally are. In being as you naturally are, you come to a great acceptance of yourself, which means you come into peace. Peace is your natural birthright. Peace. Is. Natural.

Conscious Suffering
![]() |
| Jacob's Ladder by William Blake |
It is absolutely necessary to face this shadow if we are serious. Of course it alters our idea of ourselves very much. This shadow, which is in everyone, can make havoc in our lives, as long as we are unconscious of it. As a part of our Being that we do not acknowledge, it attracts much that seems incomprehensible in our Life, owing to our not accepting it. A man without a shadow would be fully conscious to himself. He would have suffered usefully." -Maurice Nicoll, 'Commentaries' p. 1729-30
I am posting this quote (above) because I happened to read it this morning and perhaps it will be as meaningful to you as it is to me. It is what the angels say in your lessons, in different ways. In our lessons, we talk about becoming conscious of everything -- this includes the darkness. In the words above, it is referred to as the shadow, but it means the same.

a list of untranslatable words ☕️
Some of you know how much I love words and language, even though I only speak two language (English and Angelic) fluently, though I know some German and French, so I indulge in posting this here...beautiful words...
A list of untranslatable words ☕️
Life
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable. -Helen Keller (where I walked yesterday in Austin woods)
Quotes
"When a huge and hazardous iceberg is spotted in the Atlantic Ocean, it is carefully charted and followed by patrol boats. When the iceberg eventually drifts into warm waters, it disappears, leaving the patrol with no more work to do. This is how our inner work leads to a healthy lack of concern for ourselves. By carefully following a worry or a disappointment, we see it drift into the warm waters of our expanded understanding, where it disappears." -Vernon HowardIsn’t this a beautiful quote? Quotes from various sources are used throughout our School. Angels do not care who said what. If it works, they will use it. Angels are never envious when a human being says something in the perfect way, perhaps more perfectly than they themselves could have said it. Angels do not claim ownership for the words that come through them, and so they do not assign ownership to the words of others. Angels know that everything comes from, belongs, and returns to the same Source. Of course, in the material world of human beings, there are rules. Copyright laws must be honored. Quotes must be acknowledged.
Everything has already been said, anyway, in one way or another. You have already heard many of the concepts in these lessons. Truth is always old and always new. Truth is also relative and elusive. Our understanding of truth changes as we do.

What is the POINT?
When you read your daily messages, or spiritual -- what is the point?
The point is to read as a contemplation, a meditation. Allow the words to allow your mind to open, expand, and think in new ways.
"The person whose glance is like an x-ray sees through a person. This person will find more faults, lacks, wants in human nature, but it is this person who will be less affected by them or overlook them and rise above them. The reason is that he sees the cause, and when he sees the cause he sees the effect." - Hazrat Inayat Khan
This says finding faults in "human nature" -- not in human beings. We are part of human nature. When we see into human nature, we see into our own nature. We must not worry, harshly judge, or condemn. We must SEE what is. We cannot heal from our own faults if we cannot see them.
Your lessons are not meant to adhere to any particular rules of writing. They are meant to wake you up—take you out of your ordinary mindset, create new neural pathways in your brain and guide you along existing pathways of creativity and enlightenment. They are designed to free you from the prison of mechanical thinking.

Sri Nisargadatta
“The world is but a show, glittering
and empty. It is, and yet is not. It is there as long as I want to see
it and take part in it. When I cease caring, it dissolves. It has no
cause and serves no purpose. It just happens . . . It appears exactly
as it looks, but there is no depth in it, nor meaning. Only the onlooker
is real. To the Self the world is but a colourful show, which he enjoys
as long as it lasts and forgets when it is over. Whatever happens on
the stage makes him shudder in terror or roll with laughter, yet all the
time he is aware that it is but a show. Without desire or fear he
enjoys it, as it happens.”
~Sri Nisargadatta, "I AM THAT"

Amazing Morning
Yes, it is an amazing morning here in our classroom. I haven't posted in a while. But every morning I make a cup of coffee and open the classroom. My heart is always filled. My soul is uplifted. My mind is quieted. This is how I start my day, with the classroom. It sets a peaceful tone for how my day goes. That and the coffee--lo. Seriously, when for some reason I can't get here in the morning, I feel like my day and my being are off kilter. I also enjoy going back into the archives--I always find just what I need, sometimes surprises.
I am anticipating my new lesson since tomorrow is the 8th. Oh -- and WELCOME! to the new students. This is a great place to BE. Hope to hear from you! Oh -- and here is an Amazing Morning to share with you. -Kevin
