Gabi ask a question about the meaning of the word ego. I hope you have all carefully read the Introduction, (on my website under Online School) which is, in itself, a Lesson and part of The School of Being You!
The Introduction states:
Being You heals the dis-ease of ego that keeps us living in pain and separation. As the dis-ease of ego heals, you begin to live your True Magnificence!

There are many ways to define ego.
Essentially, ego is that which keeps you living in pain and separation – from yourself and from God. You could also call the ego your false self.
There is no reason to try and get “rid” of the ego. You can’t anyway. This would just be the ego trying to get rid of itself, and the ego will not willingly take this route.
The ego is composed of who you think you are. Thoughts. Impressions. Beliefs. A body. A face. A feeling. All of these things are temporary. You – the you-ness of you – not the ego-ness of you – are Eternal!
For now, do not worry about what is selfish and what is not selfish. You have been trying to be unselfish for years, trying to take care of your husband. If the old way did not work, try a new way.
Here is what the angels have to say about pleasing others:
Angels are not trying to please anyone. Angels know their being is pleasing to God. This is all an angel needs to know. Angels are free and spontaneous because they do not have to decide if what they are going to do or say will please you.
Continue to read your lessons and apply yourself to your homework. All answers shall appear as you move closer to the Light. In fact, all answers already exist! But you are like someone in a dark room, trying to read the answers on the page. You cannot see the answers in the dark. As you move closer to the light, you see the answers are already there in front of you. So, continue on your path. All shall be revealed in the Light of Understanding.
