Lesser angels, commonly known as nature spirits and fairies, are amongst the gentlest of beings. They naturally love all growing things. They abound in forests, jungles, woodlands, and wherever there are lakes, streams, and ponds. Since they are offshoots of greater angels, they are very simple, seeking only to love and nurture nature. These angels feel deeply and instinctively. When human beings senselessly slaughter ancient forests, the lesser angels immediately set about comforting the fallen trees, caressing and soothing their wounds, bringing courage to the remaining plants and trees.
Although lesser angels feel great sorrow at the slaughter of plant life, there is no attachment to the grief. Like all angels, they simply accept what is. They do not run from their rich emotional life. Emotions arise, serve their purpose, and then dissolve. Lesser angels do not experience feelings and emotions as we do, because, like all angels, they live in the present, free from regret, worry, attachment, and aversion.
Lesser angels love, worship, and serve God through serving nature. Since their focus is not upon human life, lesser angels seldom appear to humans. Human beings concern lesser angels only to the degree that human beings interact with nature, either negatively or positively.
People who truly love and are open to the world of nature may develop working relationships with lesser angels. Lesser angels respond to feelings of love and concern and may thus be empowered to communicate with certain individuals. This communication may come in the form of intuition or as an actual manifestation of the fairy spirit. Unlike adults, children often see and accept angels, particularly nature spirits, also called fairies, as a natural part of their world.
Even if you do not see lesser angels, you may experience their essence by walking or sitting quietly in nature, tending a garden, or letting yourself be held by a beautiful old tree. The gentle nature spirits are incapable of producing harm. Very tiny energies, known in folklore as elves or brownies, may create innocent mischief for particularly greedy humans, but even this is rare.
There are also angels or devas of rivers, lakes, and waterfalls. These angels are particularly vibrant and scintillating. Water angels are among the most playful, particularly those of waterfalls, brooks, and streams. Just being near moving water can uplift your mood. Angels who live amongst mountains and ancient forests are more sedate, while the angels of oceans are very ethereal.
This is not to say that trees, plants, and waters do not have an energy or spirit of their own. There is only energy. Everything on earth is alive, pulsating and vibrating with energy. Some life is sentient, some is not, but it is all life. When we lose trees, land, and the quality of air and water to pollution and destruction, we begin to lose our humanity. There is no dignity in the mass slaughter of gentle rain forests or pristine blue waters.
The service of lesser angels ultimately benefits the entire world by helping to preserve nature. So much love surrounds us, yet we are aware of so little. Lesser angels in their devoted and simple ways are never unaware of love.
