Dear Students,
Some of you may have heard the recent news about the very famous, beautiful, and wealthy movie star whose husband was unfaithful and now they are going through a divorce. Without her handsome young husband, this actress is losing control, doing drugs, and generally destroying her life.
And yet she has, one would say, "everything" at least in terms of the world....fame, fortune, beauty, children, several homes, cars, jewels, and a career. And so why is she so devastated? Well, because the world tells us that we should pursue the things of this world and that when we get them we will be happy. This is not light speaking; it is darkness. She got everything and she still wasn't happy.
She isn't suddenly unhappy only because her husband left. She was unhappy already. So was he. So are most people. When someone pursues and gets everything the world says they need to be happy and they still are not happy, what happens? The person feels like a failure. Unless one has cultivated a rich spiritual life, there is no where to turn. In this case, she turned to drugs to try and escape her unhappiness and nearly lost her life.
This clearly shows just what we teach here in our school. There is nothing in the world that can bring permanent and lasting happiness. We must be in the world but not of the world. It's fine to be rich, beautiful, and famous if that is your calling, but one must not rely upon these things for inner contentment.
The world of darkness plays a grand hoax. It seduces people into thinking that "something" will bring them out of unhappiness into happiness....a new car....new shoes....a college degree....a better house. While these things may improve the quality of life, they cannot lead to lasting happiness. They cannot take us closer to God.
And so turn now while you can, turn to God. Read your lessons. We can have compassion for this actress, and we can also learn from her story. We can learn to turn to God now. Then no matter what happens in our life, no matter who decides to abandon or betray us, no matter how far we fall, we fall eventually into the arms of our own spiritual understanding. We fall into the arms of God and Angels.

Happyness, joy .... today (and more often the past time) I am filled with so much joy that it is just pouring out of me. I am open to let it be there. And then after a while, maybe hours, when it slowly withdraws from me. I am still thankfull for the universe that is bleeing and gifting me.

Hi Monika, yes, the changes in our open classroom reflect the way everything changes in our lives...
ReplyDeleteeven the joy that comes to you and then slowly withdraws...this happens...and we can watch it appearing and disappearing like birds in the sky...until finally it arises never to disappear again because the unfriendly "me" who has been blocking our path with desires, demands, and expectations has finally dissolved, leaving only Truth...
leaving only the vast empty sky of eternal Self...empty in its fullness...
and the story of the beautiful tragic movie "star" teaches us that fame and fortune do not happiness make....
there are so many valuable lessons in the schoolroom of earth...
when we have eyes to see and ears to hear...spritual eyes and ears, that is...which we develop by showing up for our lessons...
yes, I worked hard repainting and designing our open classroom, til the wee hours of the morning...thank you for noticing :)
and now we can awaken to a sunset or a sunrise, depending upon our point of view...

ReplyDeleteUniverse is always blessing and gifting us. It is we who are not open to the blessings and giftings. Which is why the angels tell us that receptivity is the most important quality we can develop.
By the way, Monika, you can also hit "preview" and edit your comment before sending it. Sometimes that helps prevent mistakes. Sometimes.

yes, Ursuka, Monika is receptive to the blessings and giftings of the Universe. And so are you! By the way, I was blessed and gifted with the gardens and have been there 2x so far and plan to go today. An instant vacation! Thanks again Ursula. It's like walking into a fairyland. I can feel the nature spirits everywhere. The flowers are so beautiful. And so are you. And all of you.

I feel gifted to be able to read them today because
they are very much near the questions / matters I have inside these days. Or at least, I can take it fit my questions.
So it feels good to listen to your thoughts here.
I will be thinking more about it and keep trying to feel the truth - and figure out how to deal with it in my life then.

Petra, what you wrote shows that you are trying to apply the principals you read here to your life. You are trying to think for yourself. These efforts will bring results.
ReplyDeleteThe mind is capable of so much...of being a perfect tuning device for Higher Consciousness.
Unfortunately, our minds are like rusty machines we haven't been using properly. Words of Truth are like oil for the mind. The more we work to apply the principals of Truth, the better the mind can work.
The mind is working all the time anyway, behind the scenes....without our conscious knowledge....but mostly it just repeats over and over like a parrot what it has learned from other unconscious minds, and this controls our lives....
which is why the angels always tell us that when we become conscious of what is controlling our life....it begins to lose control over us....
just like it takes work to get a rusty old machine to function properly again, so does it take work to get the mind to function the way it is meant to...in direct contact with Higher Consciousness or God.
