Be Kind

Hello Dear Students, some of you may know I also keep an updated blog on my website, in addition to a new message each month. Here is one of my most recent blogs. I happen to like it and think all of us can benefit from its message

Just Be Kind

Posted at 01:33 AM on April 30, 2010

There are so many ways to be kind -- to animals, to the earth and forests, to each other, and to ourself. The darkness of ego is always quick to leap to the sarcastic remark, the bitter reply, the angry retort, the thoughtless accusation. You can turn from unkindness to kindness. Choose a kind act or word to perform each day, something out of the ordinary for you. This will increase your awareness of kindness and expand your heart. Try it for at least seven days and see what happens. Better yet, try it for a month or a year.

  1. thanks Teacher! I realize that it is not so easy to think of an extra kind act to do each day. I find myself feeling lazy or thinking it isn't worth the trouble. It is a great exercise--just for seeing how my mind does not want to break any of its old patterns. Well, I did a kind thing today--I thanked Hirth for writing his song! Does that count? Ha-ha. Well, I will think of another kind act today.
