Be Inspired! You can do it! Never give up!

It's never too late to be who you might have been.

The above quote is widely attributed the novelist George Eliot, but it was actually written by Dinah Maria (Mulock) Craik (1826-1887).

Listen!

Do you know of the poet-saint Mirabai? She was in an ecstasy of love for God and wrote much beautiful poetry. I love this one, below:

Listen

Listen, my friend, this road is the heart opening,
kissing his feet, resistance broken, tears all night.

If we could reach the Lord through immersion in water,
I would have asked to be born a fish in this life.
If we could reach Him through nothing but berries and wild nuts
then surely the saints would have been monkeys when they came from the womb!

If we could reach him by munching lettuce and dry leaves
then the goats would surely get to the Holy One before us!
If the worship of stone statues could bring us all the way,
I would have adored a granite mountain years ago.

Laughter is good for the soul

False. Evidence. Appearing. Real.

Penny

My little dog, Penny, has been going through a rough time --- seizures. She had them every hour for a day and a night. Now she is on a medication which stops the seizures, but makes her slow and lethargic. Hopefully the bad side effects of the drug will wear off with time and she will return to herself. I have had many sleepless nights as she has not been well. Hopefully tonight she will sleep well. I plan to bring Penny to Europe in the fall, since I cannot leave her with anyone else during this challenging time in her life. So perhaps some of you will meet her when I am there. She is the sweetest dog ever. Here is Penny just before the seizures started, with me. We were very happy that day. Please send her healing light and love!

What matters most . . .

What matters most is how well you walk through the fire. -Charles Bukowski
http://bukowski.net/

This is the title of a  book by Bukowski, as well as one of his poems. And it says so much.

And as the angels say . . .

It may be easy to have trust and faith when the stream is smooth and mellow, no highs, no lows, everything status quo. The challenge is to maintain that faith and trust even if the stream unexpectedly changes direction, dries up, or floods.

Faith and trust are as important to beauty as they are to difficulty. Did you know that? Otherwise fear can take over—fear that we cannot handle so much beauty, that we do not deserve it, that it is all a mistake, and we will lose it. We begin to identify with our thoughts. We forget we are everything and so we try to control everything. Then we cannot enjoy even the good things that come to us.

People often pray for strength to bear their “bad karma.” Angels say, if you are going to pray, then pray for the strength to bear both the “bad” and the “good.” Strength and courage are as necessary to beauty as they are to difficulty.

Row your boat merrily. Life is but a dream. Life is but a stream, a flow of consciousness. Do not seek to change the world to suit your list of preferences. Look instead to see which way your life is flowing and allow yourself to come into harmony with that flow.

Lord open my eyes wide so I can see

Dear Students,
Here I am sharing part of an email I wrote recently to someone, since it contains some words of wisdom we can all use...

Dear....

Time doesn’t exist except for us as personalities and physical beings, and can be transcended by our relationship with God, by cancelling the false me.

We must take what peaceful moments we can and drink them so we have enough water, like the camel, to carry us across the hot dry desert of human existence to the true oasis.

If we could only see, all suffering would be seen as nonexistent and self-created. Lord open my eyes wide so I can see must be a good prayer.

I pray for you that your anxiety and tension and stress be seen through and thus vanquished. And that you do not listen to self-harming voices but say no and take a different path to health and well-being at every level.

Happiness

I am busy writing a new lesson for the students who first began the lessons. It is called Happiness, and all of you shall read it, if you continue long enough in your school. It is Lesson 67. Often I am amazed that I have written so many lessons by now. And that I can still write more. We can't hear words of truth and inspiration enough. We need to hear words of wisdom often--because we are so unconscious. And we hear the words of the world all day long. The world is always trying to convince us that we need to be more of what the world wants us to be. You are not here to be the image on some magazine cover. You are here to be the image of God. You are here to shine in your own unique beautiful way. You are here to know that you are the light and the light is good and the light is your true nature. So at least for today give yourself permission to shine. Radiate. You have the right to be here. Just as you are. I love you more than you can ever know.

FREEDOM FROM BONDAGE PRAYER

Dear God, I have a resentment towards a person that I want to be free of. So, I am asking you to give this person everything I want for myself. Help me to feel compassionate understanding and love for this person. I pray that they will receive everything they need. Thank you God for your help and strength with this resentment.

I loved this posting -it spoke to me.

Tree Beings Breathing

Your Classmate Monika  F. (we have 2 Monika's in our school) sent me a picture she took in France, so I made it the background for awhile. We all love trees, right! They give us air to breathe. What a gift! Trees are our breath. Monika also shared this in a comment, if you didn't see (hear) it: http://www.realfarmacy.com/this-is-what-it-sounds-like-when-you-put-tree-rings-on-a-record-player/#vkJuoF54PKEMPqdD.99

4th Step Resentment Prayer

"God, Please help me to be free of anger and to see that the world and its people have dominated me. Show me that the wrong-doing of others, fancied or real, has the power to actually kill me. Help me to master my resentments by understanding that the people who wrong me were perhaps spiritually sick. Please help me show those I resent the same Tolerance, Pity and Patience that I would cheerfully grant a sick friend. Help me to see that this is a sick man. God, please show me how I can be helpful to that person and save me from being angry. Lord, help me to avoid retaliation or argument. I know I can’t be helpful to all people, but at least show me how to take a kindly and tolerant view of each and every one. Thy will be done."

The Step Prayers are from Alcoholics Anonymous, but they are relevant to all of us. We all have our addictions. Anyway, I post them here, to take or leave them, use or not use them, as they do or do not appeal to you.

Sing Your Heart Out!

Sing your song with abandon and innocence.
