What matters most . . .

What matters most is how well you walk through the fire. -Charles Bukowski
http://bukowski.net/

This is the title of a  book by Bukowski, as well as one of his poems. And it says so much.

And as the angels say . . .

It may be easy to have trust and faith when the stream is smooth and mellow, no highs, no lows, everything status quo. The challenge is to maintain that faith and trust even if the stream unexpectedly changes direction, dries up, or floods.

Faith and trust are as important to beauty as they are to difficulty. Did you know that? Otherwise fear can take over—fear that we cannot handle so much beauty, that we do not deserve it, that it is all a mistake, and we will lose it. We begin to identify with our thoughts. We forget we are everything and so we try to control everything. Then we cannot enjoy even the good things that come to us.

People often pray for strength to bear their “bad karma.” Angels say, if you are going to pray, then pray for the strength to bear both the “bad” and the “good.” Strength and courage are as necessary to beauty as they are to difficulty.

Row your boat merrily. Life is but a dream. Life is but a stream, a flow of consciousness. Do not seek to change the world to suit your list of preferences. Look instead to see which way your life is flowing and allow yourself to come into harmony with that flow.

  1. The angels are great that they inspired you to write this. Yesterday night I pulled out the readings for me from last year in Maulburg. Thanks to Jutta, Barbara and Christel I have it written down. And big part of the reading was about going through the fire. To read this again had an big inpact on me and I was crying endlessly. I asked the angels for help. Still this morning I have a very thin skin (we say so in german). And I am glad, that the classroom is open and it has compassionate ears.

  3. Our classmate Ursula told me her husband, John, taught her English using Bukowsi's poetry books. I think that is just so cool!

How is the fire burning now, Monika? Thinking of you and sending cool waterfalls to sooth your heart. Fire is a great purifier. And, yes, sometimes what happens at an Angel Seminar manifests later, as the seeds of transformation that were planted then begin to blossom. When the fire finally burns away everything you are NOT -- what you are REMAINS.

  4. A beautiful honest conversation-
to send a soothing waterfall to Monika 's heart are truly perfectly chosen words.
Our classroom, our lessons have brought us a new layer in our lives.
I often fell I have gotten more strengths to deal with difficulties.
Have a great week everyone and enjoy your summer
Oh Bukowski-there's even a tour in LA I would love to attend one of this days.
And one more thing: in nature we often need fires to open up seeds they only can open up with heat.So fires can't be only bad.And maybe Monika one of your seeds just open up and will bloom one of this days.
    love ursula
