As my Christmas gift to you, I am giving you a gift that you may gift to someone you love: a 3 month scholarship to our school. This will come as a gift from you, not from me, with a special message. If you would like to offer this gift to someone, just send me their name and email address, so they can be enrolled. Remember: next semester for new students begins January 8, 2012, so please register their names in time to complete their Orientation before their first lesson arrives. Their scholarship will be January 8 to April 8. Of all the gifts we can give, gifts of the spirit are the greatest, for they are lasting, while everything of this world fades away. Perhaps this is the true meaning of Christmas and this season of Light.
Come! Share the journey. You are not alone. The angels are here. Your classmates are here. Your teacher is here. You are here.

I like this quote
"Angels are patient. Angels know there is no rush, no journey more meaningful than the one you are on. Home is just a breath away. Whenever you need to be reminded of this, you are invited to return to your lessons for a dose of unconditional love, inspiration, and serenity." - I like these words so much, that are in my new lesson 41. I know everyone isn't on lesson 41 yet; I just want to say that I am so glad to have the lessons to accompany me through life. I hope you keep writing them for years to come, dear teacher of my heart.

Walnuts and Cherries
Do you know that w walnuts and c cherries both contain significant amounts of melatonin which can help with sleep, and are also a good source of antioxidants? Eating walnuts and cherries with yogurt is a beneficial evening snack. Frozen cherries are often available, even when there are no fresh ones.

LET THE REST OF THE WORLD GO BY
Here is a song with beautiful words and a beautiful melody. You can find it yourself on the internet, if you wish to hear it. I am posting it here because it is so pretty. I especially like the part that says, "a place that's known to God alone." It was written in 1944 by Ernest Ball and J. Keirn Brennan. Maybe you will enjoy it too!

From Eva
Dear Classmates, I love this work. I need the angels help. Oh, Judy I miss you! Also, I am giving a one-year workshop if any students live in the Mainz area and would like to learn Shiatsu.

YOU ARE NOT THE PERSON YOU TAKE YOURSELF TO BE
Good morning Dear Students.
As the sun rises in California I will respond to an email from a student in response to the angel message I posted the other day. I haven't included her name, just her words, below.
For me it's a very hard exercise to think in the way you suggested, "You are not the person you take yourself to be." What remains? What is real? What can I trust? A lot of questions and still some more not so easy to put in words. I don't really expect an answer from you, but it's something I would have told you. (It's not easy to tell such things in my own language, and it's very hard to do it in English).

Gabi
Hi Gabi, I just looked at your website. What a pretty setting you have to do your work. Perhaps one day if I am ever in your part of the world, I can have a session. We have such talented people here in our school.
Awareness is the same thing as Happiness
Dearest Students, the world out there is very busy right now, at least in the USA, as people prepare for Thanksgiving. I myself will be taking part in a spiritual retreat, which is the best way I can imagine to spend a day devoted to gratitude. Since I don't eat meat, I won't be partaking of any turkey, the traditional dinner of most Americans. I thought I'd give you all a special spiritual exercise you can practice, so here it is:

Castles
"If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them." --Thoreau.........
Our work in the school helps us to build firm foundations of truth. Thank you dear Teacher and classmates for being part of my schooling!

Helpful Reminder
Human beings experience lows and highs, and yet what we strive for on the clear and simple way is our center. When you experience a bad mood, a depression, notice how your mind tells you that it will last forever. Then remind yourself that your dark state is temporary. Do the same thing when you experience an unnatural high. Just do your best to observe the constant cycle of highs and lows, and keep remembering to remind yourself that this is temporary. Be an angel to yourself. Whisper words of truth to yourself, especially when you are in a depression or an unnatural high. Remind yourself that all darkness is false. Only Light is eternal.

BANISHING DISTRESS
Q: How does reading your lessons and practicing your homework help you in the rest of your life?
A: When a dark energy (such as ignorance and reliance upon negative thoughts) is banished inwardly (replaced by Truth), it loses all power outwardly. When there is nothing anxious within you, there is nothing distressful outside of you!

OCTOBER 2008 MESSAGE: LETTING GO OF THE PAST
I decided to take a look back into the past, to the message I wrote October 2008 on my official website. (I used to write monthly message on my website, though now it's mostly every two months. Too busy writing for our school!) I thought you might like to read it too. I especially like the idea that to our past self, we are the future self, and to our future self, we are the past self! Get it? Anyway, if you'd like to read that message, it's here: http://www.theclearandsimpleway.com/octobermessage2008.htm

An NPR story
Hello Everyone. I am posting a little story here that I just read. It's from NPR (national public radio). It made me smile. I like stories that contain spiritual truth and make me smile. Maybe you will like it too. You have to click below to read it, because it's sorta long. It's called: Lessons Learned From Luggage Lost

DAWN
Dawn is just stealing over the horizon, bringing daylight to this part of the world. I enjoy the stillness of early morning, before it is fully light, alone with only the silence. Being able to be alone with only ourself is important. Otherwise, we will always be pulling at someone to fill our loneliness. We will be needy and clingy. We will see others, not as who they are, but as someone to fill our loneliness. We will pull energy from the very people we are supposed to love. We will add to their burden.

HEALING FEAR
The way to heal fear is to go against it. Do the thing you are most afraid of. This gives fear the message that it is not stronger than your heart. If you let fear rule you, then fear becomes stronger. That is, old habits of fear and limitation become stronger. Everyone is afraid all the time. It may come across as anger, frustration, control, or whatever, but the basis of all negative emotions is fear. Proceed in spite of fear. If you wait for all fear to disappear before taking a step, you will wait forever. Only by taking a step can we overcome fear. We are, of course, not talking about healthy fear, such as avoiding the snake in your path.

Sunday Morning The past is burned in the fire of time
In Oberwil, Switzerland, where I was just a few short weeks ago, the church bells are surely ringing, as they do throughout each day, along with the cowbells. I love hearing the cow bells and they remind me that at least some cows are still free to roam the hills, not locked in dark barns, unable to move at all. Although most animals have no choice but to bend to the will of man, human beings do have a choice. We can choose to walk a spiritual path. We can choose to keep on trekking, no matter how hard or dark the way may seem. And it does seem hard and dark at times.

Jamestown, NY, USA
Hi Everyone, I found myself surprised when I entered our Open Classroom today. I'd totally forgotten that I'd changed the decor. Our school is designed in a spontaneous way that lets us know that while everything on the outside changes, there is something on the inside that always remains constant....our inner self, awareness, consciousness.
