LET THE REST OF THE WORLD GO BY

Here is a song with beautiful words and a beautiful melody. You can find it yourself on the internet, if you wish to hear it. I am posting it here because it is so pretty. I especially like the part that says, "a place that's known to God alone."  It was written in 1944 by Ernest Ball  and J. Keirn Brennan. Maybe you will enjoy it too!

LET THE REST OF THE WORLD GO BY

Is the struggle and strive we find in this life
Really worthwhile, after all?
I've been wishing today
I could just run away
Out where the west winds call

With someone like you, a pal good and true
I'd like to leave it all behind and go and find
Some place that's known to God alone
just a spot to call our own

We'll find perfect peace
Where joys never cease
Out there beneath a kindly sky
We'll build a sweet little nest
Somewhere in the west
Across the Great Divide

With someone like you, a pal good and true
I'd like to leave it all behind and go and find
Some place that's known to God alone
Just a spot to call our own

We'll find perfect peace, where joys never cease
Out there beneath a kindly sky
We'll build a sweet little nest
Somewhere in the west
And let the rest of the world go by.

Our school is a kindly place. Here we learn to come closer to that perfect peace, where joys never cease. We are building a sweet little nest, a spot to call our own, with pals good and true, and letting the rest of the world go by.

even we had no power for a few days(wind storm),my messages came to me on my phone...so perfect.

having candles everywhere and all the
quiet time to read the lesson in peace. To know that the ego is the one who is the one hurt and not the true self has brought so much peace and clearness in to my mind.I have been practicing and enjoyed happiness.what a journey!!!

  2. The ego masquerades as our true self. It is an imposter. Self-observation reveals the ego has no more reality than wisps of smoke. The ego is composed of thoughts that come and go and disappear like wisps of smoke. It has no substance. It is not real! Beyond all thought is Awareness. That Awareness is our true nature. This is happiness.

Yes, candles and quiet contemplation with your lessons is a good use of time in the darkness.

The recent Santa Ana winds brought down trees everywhere and left many people here in Southern CA without power. It also cleared the air and the snow-covered mountains are beautiful against blue skies. The air is fresh.

  3. I also work with these concepts that I am not who I take myself to be. What do I take myself to be? A man. A man with anger, pain, hostility, fear. In the world, I learn to hide my pain, to wear a mask. Only here in the school do I feel safe to show the face behind the many faces I wear each day. Through reading my lessons, I come to see that everyone wears masks. No one is who they appear to be.

People hide behind masks in order to stay safe. But it is not real safety. It only leads to more masks, more lies, more pain.

I hide behind masks I have worn so long, I do not know what is a mask and what is real. This I know to be the state of all people, though all people do not have the insight or freedom to say this, for fear of exposing themselves, for fear of what others might think.

We worry about what someone wearing a mask might think! How crazy is that!

I work with many men and women in their business outfits and armor each day, who appear together and professional and cool, but I know that the face they present to the world is not their only face.

I ask for the courage to allow God to tear away my masks, to reveal to me everything that is not me, til only Truth remains. I know this is hard and painful and frightening for the ego me. I know it is the only way to freedom.

  4. Thank you Kevin, for your wonderful comment. You are an excellent writer!!!
What you write about is touching me very much.... and it is so true for me!
Masks - everybody is wearing them. And I for myself often do not know neither, what is a mask and what is real. I could not express it that way, I could not even figure out what it was that confused me somehow. So your words gave me a lot of clarity.
There is confusion! - and I am not alone with it! Thank you, dear classmate! I am very grateful for your sharings!
