SOUL FOOD

Last night my soul woke me
In the middle of a dream
It was hungry

So I took it for a walk
Into the deep dark forest
I filled it with the silence
That cradles the trees
and the tiny violets
with their heart-shaped leaves
And holds the stars in space
And keeps my heart in place
And my soul was happy.

Accept what IS

We can always learn from the teachers around us, as well as all of life. When we stop being students, we stop the flow of wisdom that can come to us. We must never think we know it all. That we have 'arrived.' There is, for one thing, no one to know it all, nor anyone to arrive. Hubris and arrogance are huge blocks on the path of conscious awareness. They prevent the very words, experiences, and wisdom we need for our heart to grow and expand. Stay open to all that life has to give you. Be responsive to life in a right way, with a heart wide open. Lately, I am liking the wisdom of the Roman Emperor, Marcus Aurelius, who lived from April 26, 121 AD to March 17, 180 AD.

To understand yourself, first pay attention

You might try journaling as a way to concentrate your attention. One small idea can expand and evolve to  teach and guide you … when you write with the intention to understand yourself, not to criticize and condemn others, which only supports your wrong and negative views.

When you write with anger and revenge in mind, the physical act of concentrating your energy in a dark contracted way will increase these feelings.

When you write with the intention to let your heart open to Understanding, then the Light can shine through your mind, through your writing, to heal and enlighten you.

Why is this so? Because the true Teacher is within you. Throughout time, sages, saints, poets, and musicians have taught this simple truth.

Angel Message, June 6, 2016,

Have you been practicing your last two awareness exercises? Awareness is everything! You come to your school to unlearn everything about yourself that is not true. Is it true that your true self is full of wants? Is it true that your true self is afraid? Please continue to study these aspects of yourself. When a thought arises, “I want…” let yourself look closely at that want. Bring it into the clear light of conscious awareness. Seek to understand it, not just leap to fulfill it.

We are not saying you should never get what you want. We are saying you should understand your desires. Be the master of your desires, instead of letting them be the master of you. Do not be an unconscious slave of wants and desires.

Morning message, June 5, 2016, Burbank

Happy June Tune, June Moone Birthday to You and You and You. So glad you were born this month to share life with, if only from a distance. Stay in tune! 
Awareness exercise: Notice the thoughts in your mind that begin with, “I am afraid…” You may not know how often these words reverberate within your mind, compelling  your actions in the world. When these words are living your life for you, then, no matter what you do, even if it is the very best decision, fear grows within you. Study this and you will see it is so. Notice thoughts that begin with, “I am afraid that…I am afraid of…I am afraid to…I am afraid he/ she/they/ will…I am afraid I…I am afraid….”

These thoughts are there, whether or not you are aware of them. We are constantly making decisions, performing actions, saying and doing things because we are controlled by fear. We are afraid someone might not like us or will reject us. We are afraid of  “what might happen.” We are afraid to lose control, lose something or someone. We are afraid to appear  weak. We are afraid not to know. We are just afraid.

At least let the thought of “I am afraid…” become conscious. Hear it when it is there. You are only asked to become aware of this thought. That is a first step. Notice how the thought “I am afraid…” makes you feel. Notice how it takes away your freedom. Notice how it keeps you in anxiety. Notice how it keeps you from hearing your heart and following your intuition.

The Clear and Simple Way School of Conscious Awareness - Awareness exercise. Notice the thoughts in your mind that begin with, “I want…” Notice what the mind is wanting. Notice how the thought makes you feel. Now replace it with, “Thy will not mine be done.” Notice what happens inside you. Repeat this exercise often. You may discover many more “I wants” in your thinking then you ever realized were there. You may discover that “I wants” leave you feeling empty and sad, as if you are not enough, as if what you have been blessed with is not enough. You may discover that “I wants” leave you no room for gratitude.

Love the Classroom!

Love the way the classroom changes and grows. Reminds me of the way life changes, the way we can hang onto nothing, the way that nothing in this world is permanent. Yes, even visiting the classroom (I do most everyday) teaches me, reveals to me something more about myself and life. You show up and write. We show up and read. And learn. You are like an angel, doing so much of your work unseen, in the silence. I appreciate the discipline in what you do. I appreciate you. Thank you. Thank the angels. Thank God. Thank myself for showing up. And taking time to write this.

Angel Message May 26, 2016

Dear Students, I don't know about you, but I need an angel message, so I will see if the angels are obliging this morning.

Dearest One,
Still within the stillness, one within the oneness, we are always ready to give you messages. That is not the point. The point is, are you always ready to listen? Are you open to receiving? 

Showing up here and reading what angels say is the first step. There are billions of people upon earth and somehow you have found your way here, to what appears to many as invisible. Angels are invisible to you, also, perhaps--at least to your physical eyes. Angels are not invisible to your 3rd eye, to your spiritual I. Angels appear to you in many ways. Angels speak to you in a flower, in the wind, in your dreams. Angels speak to you through a friend or an enemy. Angels speak to you through sacred scriptures, in your heart, through your intuition. Most specifically, Angels make our presence known to you through your school.

 Our words and teachings are available to all, but all do not choose to come, not to the School of Angels. Most human beings prefer their ideas about angels, as opposed to the Reality of Angels. Most human beings want only soft words of love and light -- as they believe love and light are. When you have a belief of what love and light is, how can you know the Reality of Love and Light? How can you know love and light when it comes to you?

 Most people, even those who call themselves spiritual seekers -- and they are seeking, but still...most people...want their ego to be flattered. They want to be told that they are god and they are good. Angels say, God is Good and God is You, and you are not god. Wanting to be god is what got human beings where they are -- lost and separate in the darkness. We will talk more about this another time, as it is a very deep subject for human beings to grasp.

For now, we ask that you watch and listen for our messages. They are here. We are here. We will be intensifying our work with you, whoever you are, whoever you think you are, wherever you are in your lessons.

 Do your best not to repress anything. Nothing at all. Whatever negative or painful feelings come to you, let them blow through you like the wind, like a flowing stream, cleansing and healing. Let something new be revealed. Something new cannot be revealed when you are holding onto negative thoughts, believing in your beliefs, even when they hurt and harm you.

You are not your feelings. You are not your thoughts. Watch. Observe. Listen. Let each breath remind you to stay here in the present moment of Truth.

We will be with you very intensely. We are with you very intensely. This is an important time for you, for all students of the school. It is an important time for all human beings. There are many changes taking place in the world that man has created. You are not these changes. These changes are not you, not unless you allow your energy to be brought down into the lower vibrations.

 The maya of this world--that which calls itself real, and is not, is doubling its efforts to keep you  asleep. There are more human beings upon the planet right now who are deeply asleep, living in hypnosis, reacting in a mechanical way. This is because of fear. There is more fear upon the planet now.

There are those who would have you "believe" that human beings are at their highest potential, ready for a mass awakening at any moment. Many such "dates" for this mass awakening have come and gone, without any such awakening. Do not allow yourself to be gullible, waiting for some mythical future event. Those people who propagandize some massive awakening in the future -- keep human thinking not in the present, not with their own spiritual work, but living in the future. Can you see the darkness in this? Angels would never propagate the idea of a future mass awakening, because angels exist only now. Angels bring you into the present.

There are those of you who are moving brightly towards the light. There is more light. It is a concentrated light. The more that you use every moment to come closer to the light of understanding, the more concentrated your light will become. The more concentrated your light is.

We will continue our message in another present moment. For now, please keep this message with you in your divine memory and in your heart. Let it heal and enlighten you. All the positive and loving forces of the universe are with you now and always, moving you towards the Light, as you are willing and open to be moved. This is a time to intensify the energy you give towards your own awakening. Know that it is possible for you to wake up. It is possible. Now. Never forget this. Awakening is always possible, and it is only possible now.

We offer you the combined energy of all the angels. We are here for you. Call upon us. Do not fear, and if you fear, call anyway. Call even louder. Weep for us to come. Even in your fear and despair, call upon us and know--KNOW--we are here, even when we seem to be invisible to you.

As harshly as you judge yourself is as harshly as you judge others. As harshly as you judge others is as harshly as you will be condemned to judge yourself. We all live in this cycle of karmic fear and despair. If you think you don’t, take a closer look at what runs (ruins) your life. Take off the masks you wear, or at least see through the masks. See what is behind them. The only way to the light is through the dark forest of ego.

The angels are calling you. They are calling you out of lack, loss, fear, and limitation. These exist in the physical world, but they do not have to live inside you. No matter what…no matter WHAT…you can…you CAN live a full and abundant life. You were not created from seeds of fear and limitation. You are created from seeds of love, joy, and wisdom. This is your truenature. You do not have to become this — you already are this. You must only realize this.

You have all the power within you to do what you must do each day, each moment, to realize that you are love. You are joy. You are wisdom.

So take the small steps you must take today. Try not to complain too much, no matter what your situation. When you catch yourself in lack, loss, fear, and limitation, step away from that into something new. Step into the next moment and let it become the present moment.

Do not be lazy today. Do not be a victim today. Do not feel sorry for yourself today. Do not think about yourself all day. Do not look through eyes of lack, loss, fear, and limitation. Just for today try this. Then try it again the next day. And the next.

Do what you must do. This brings courage. Courage is an energy. All there is, is energy. Do what you
must do today. This attracts courage to you. Courage is doing the small tasks of life, even when you are afraid, even when you do not want to.

Who else must complete your tasks? No one. They are yours. So do what you must do. Watch the
negative thoughts and emotions inside you, but do not give into them. This will lead you higher up the mountain of Truth. This will lead you to a life of wisdom, joy, and love. When you have wisdom, joy, and love, you live a life of abundance.

When you are no one, you are someone

AROUSE YOURSELF TO LOSE

REJOICE every time someone passes you, gets the advancement, the romance. REJOICE every time they pass you up until you are in last place. And stay there until you see you should have done it years ago.

No more winning, only conscious losing… of all your false values.
Don't believe in yourself. Allow yourself to lose! Never mind the resistance (e.g., Where is the next race--there is none!... THAT is Heaven!) 

Be passive. No ego victories. No wanting attention. No aggressive putting forth of YOUR ideas, views, opinions.
 
Let the defeat be complete. Defeated!... Humiliated!... Broken-spirited!... Sick!... Crushed!...THAT is the grand experience!--Exhilarating!--Don’t goof it!

Humiliation is your salvation. Endure personal disgrace to the very end. Let disgrace have its way with you. Be completely humiliated, cast down! Be a nothing. Nothing left but disgrace, shame, regrets. Welcome the shame, the disgrace, the loss of respect. Collapse completely. Don't fight the fact that you did wrong, hurt someone, said something stupid. Only pain can save you!

You have been wasting you suffering, your humiliation. Next time you do some small thing wrong, picture a tidal wave moving upon you and washing over you. Don’t do a thing to save yourself. Dear Students,
I've been doing very hard physical and emotional work each day as I clear out the storage area where the items from my last 20 years with Hirth have been living. Hopefully by the end of May that task will be accomplished. Letting go. Giving away. Throwing away. Shipping what remains. I've never been an accumulator of physical possessions, but they do accumulate anyway. I haven't much space in between working and recovering from working and working some more. Maybe I am building muscles from all the heavy lifting. Well, time to start the day again. I awake at 6am and now it is almost 7am. Thinking of you and wishing you well from the depths of my heart and soul.

This is Merryweather who lives in the backyard here in Burbank where I am staying with our classmate, Janet. Merryweather is content because she has just laid an egg. We can be content also when we accept the simplicity of the present moment and do not demand more than the day offers.

Try Meditation

Meditation is calming. It helps you contact your Inner Teacher, your Inner Healer, your Inner Everything. There are so many worlds we can inhabit. In our school we want to inhabit the world of the Self, the Primordial One. We want to live in a world of  deep and profound simplicity, which is happiness. It is possible. I am here to tell you: It is possible. No matter what you have gone through, no matter what you are going through. You are not meant to suffer. You are not meant to go through life suffering from a feeling of lack, loss, fear, and limitation. You can have all the energy you need when you let Something Higher live your life for you. The body grows tired after a long day, after hard physical work. This happens. And you do not have to lose your mental clarity. You do not have to become spiritually tired. All the energy you need exists for you. Here. Now.
