LIVING FROM A THOUGHT SELF

Human beings live from a thought self and call it real. Sigh.

Thought = Feeling = Action = Your Experience of Life.

Watch yourself get worked up over something you are thinking about--something that creates negative feelings within you. When you notice that you are deeply, emotionally involved in negative thoughts, take a breath, step back from yourself, and ask:

Is this who I really am? Am I these thoughts I have been believing? Am I these emotions I have been feeling? Do I want to be this negative thought self?

Ask these questions anytime you find yourself getting caught up in a negative experience. If you believe you are a thought self, you will be compelled to act as if you are. For example, when you start thinking jealous thoughts, you soon feel very jealous. If you do not stop to question this, you soon believe you are this jealous person. Then you are compelled to act like a jealous person.

This is true for any negative thought self you create. If you think thoughts of anger, sadness, hostility, paranoia, and inferiority long and strong enough, soon you feel that way--and then you act that way.

Taking a moment to stop, step outside of your thought self, and ask intelligent questions about what you are thinking and feeling can give you perspective. You may realize that you are not a thought self unless you believe you are. You may become calmer. You may come into touch with who you really are.

You may begin to see that thoughts come and go and change all the time. You may begin to see you are not a thought, but the space between two thoughts.

    Thank you, Judy, for these words. It is a good reminder and is coming when I am here to hear :-) The ego so easily takes over and even sometimes makes me say I am what it holds me thinking before I can stop it. - But I'm watching. I will exercise...

  2. The more we watch the more we learn the more we cease to be under ego control. Remember you can say NO! to harmful thoughts. The more you watch, the more you become aware that SOMETHING that is NOT you is in control of your life. Human beings are not aware of this. That Something is responsible for all the pain of the world, all the wars, anger, hatred, all the things we wish we never would have said, never should have said -- call it ego, call it negative forces, call it evil -- you are in your school to find the truth for yourself. The great esoteric truths taught here are available to everyone, but everyone does not want them. This is why the world is in the state it is. We must have the courage to look at the wars going on inside us, the way anger and hatred often take us over, the way we say and do things that bring us and other people pain. This takes great courage. It means giving up our idea of who we think we are.

    Stay brave, dear Petra. The sky will open up, the angels will sing, and you will know God. It is possible. The journey takes constant persistence and courage. The pearl of great price exists for you. God wants you to have everything now. The only thing that stands in the way is -- the ego -- the false self -- that we are unwilling to give up so that we can be flooded forever with the bright light of God.
