A favorite author

Author of A Wrinkle in Time, for young people, but also good for people of any age. She used the theory of Quantum Mechanics, which I write about in the latest lesson, #75, Living in Oneness. I love her books!

  3. Let me know how you like the book, Petra. I read it first when I was around 13 years old and fell in love with it. There is a trilogy, so if you like this book (and your son does) there are 2 more. It's my favorite childhood book--along with The Secret Garden. Love you!

  4. I happened to find an old copy of A Wrinkle in Time at a used bookstore, so have been reading it again. I realized I haven't read it since I was maybe 13. It's still a nice book, and I can see why I liked it back then.

Also just finished reading Tarzan of the Apes--the original Edgar Rice Burroughs book. He creates a totally believable world, and I enjoyed entering into it. Haven't read Tarzan books since I was in high school. Since I am here in NYS visiting my mom, and I do not always have easy internet access, I have some extra time to read. There is too much snow and cold to spend a lot of time outside, though I manage to go for walks most days. Or nights.

  5. Petra & Kevin, I happened to be in a used book store and came across the 2nd book in the trilogy -- A WIND IN THE DOOR. It is even better than the first one. A great book for young people. I think the angels helped L'engle write it. There is even a Cherubim in it. I had forgotten what was in the book, since I hadn't read them since I was a child.

  6. It took me some time but finally I read the Wrinkle in time, and liked it. I can understand why you liked it. It was a pity that it ended rather abruptly. My friend found the other books in english and I am looking forward to read on.
Timo didn't get to read it yet... he preferred and is now totally immersed in the world of Harry Potter.
Fortunately, books wait very patiently ;-)
