The woman who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. She who walks alone is likely to find herself in places no one has ever been before.—Albert Einstein
The average man or woman follows the crowd, the ways of the world. It takes an un-average person to be willing to go against the world and all its false conditioning. It helps to have support to stop following the crowd. This crowd is not just the outside crowd—it is also the inside crowd—the inside crowd of conditioned thoughts and beliefs that have for so long accompanied us through life. It can seem very lonely when we first begin to give up old habits and attitudes—even when these are harmful to us.
We must be willing to give up following the crowd, even when we do not know where we are going. If we know where we are going—this is just ego thinking it knows where it is going. And where ego thinks it will end up, it often does. So be willing to give up all preconceived ideas and notions of what it means to stop following the crowd and live in spiritual freedom. As the angels tell us again and again, spiritual freedom is nothing you think it is.
The angels say, "It takes constant discipline, constant showing up, to come even close to our true nature. We cannot enter Light if we have even one tiny bit of darkness left in us. Why? Because there is no darkness in LIGHT."
The angels say, "O beautiful ones. Please give up all notions, all ideas you have of angels. There is no hierarchy of angels, as human beings think of it. Angels exist in complete equality. If your one wish is to have angels help you get parking places or find lost rings and things, then you will connect with only a very small vibrational part of the angelic realm. Why connect with only a small part when the whole realm of angels exists here for you?"
The angels say, "Do not measure your spiritual lessons by human time. Do not think in terms of how much time you put into your spiritual studies. Time is a trap that keeps human beings in pain. While you must honor the concept of time, you must not let it define you or your life. Simply show up here and now in each amazing moment. Do not let the thoughts of your mind block you from showing up for all the lessons of your life."
The angels say, "Be aware! Notice the questions your mind asks! Notice your internal reactions! Notice the thoughts in your mind! Following endless thoughts that take place within time means you are following the crowd. Stop it! Stop following both the inner and the outer crowd! Stop now!"
To read the words of the angels reminds me there really is something greater than my ordinary world.
ReplyDeleteTo read this quote by Einstein encourages me to walk my path, do my duty, my dharma, and not follow the crowd.
To read that the crazy crowd isn't just 'out there' in the world, but here inside my head is a shocking reminder of how often I think the problem is outside, in someone else.
