ANGELIC PROSE

Dear Students: Please click here to read the entire poem:

                                         Angelic Prose

Angels say
Be clear
As air or water
Transparent and yielding
Unattached to form
What is form?
But the shape
The mind takes
On its excursions
Into what it calls reality.
Enjoy the excursions
Do not become attached to the train.

Be simple, as angels
Angels arrive in the moment of need
And then vanish.
Allow thoughts to do the same.
You cannot keep a thought from arising
But you do not have to dress it up in clothes,
Because then it will want
To go out to dinner with you
Sleep next to you at night
And wake up with you in the morning
Even fatter.

Angels say
Why entertain unnecessary thoughts?
Tell them you have other guests,
And then make it so.
If you have time to think
Useless thoughts,
Especially of unworthiness,
You have too much time.
Plant a garden, clean windows,
Write a poem, smile at someone,
Solve an equation,
Swim in a waterfall.
The list is endless.
So are thoughts.
