Through their unique culture, the Dukha people have developed a
unique relationship with neighboring reindeer. They use them as means of
transportation over the treacherous terrain they call home. The Dukha also train golden eagles to aid in their hunting. They don’t just train reindeer. They also train wolves! The Dukha believe they have a spiritual connection with all animals.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Ursula. Yes, I am healing well and feeling pretty okay. I also love this story--but it is sad that the Dukha number so few now. I hope somehow their numbers can increase and at least their beautiful legacy with animals can continue. The darkness of the world is so intent upon pushing out all that is gentle and true. Still light endures when all else fades and a bit of kindness and truth planted here and there flowers where it can.
