♥Dear Valentine♥
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Sweet Sincere Student,
It's that time of year again, Valentine's Day! Each Valentine's Day I post this lesson, YOUR OWN ANGEL BOX here in Your Open Classroom. I used to include in as a monthly lesson. If you've already read it, you can benefit from reading it again. And I have updated it a bit. The more we read positive teachings, the more the mind can be educated and the more angelic energy can reach the heart.
As a child, I loved Valentine's Day. In school we'd create a beautiful box in which to place our valentines to give to each other. I loved giving everyone little valentines. In my childhood valentines were much cuter, more innocent and sweet. It's a nice idea to focus, at least once a year, on sending out loving energy to everyone, so long as we don't get caught up in the commercialism and think we have to spend lots of money or buy love, or that we aren't loved if we don't get wine or roses. What we give out, we get back, so give out sweet innocent love, with no expectations or attachments.
Enjoy this special Valentine just for you. Know that you are loved more than you can ever imagine because you are in God's dream, and in God's dream there is only love, no matter what the outer appearance seems to be.
YOUR ANGEL BOX
You swim in joy as joy swims in you. It is only that you are not awake and so you cannot experience this joy. Your school helps you wake up to the Joy that is Eternally Present.
Today you are invited to create An Angel Box. You could call it a Letting Go Box. Your box can help you fulfill the prayer below:
Today you are invited to create An Angel Box. You could call it a Letting Go Box. Your box can help you fulfill the prayer below:
THE SERENITY PRAYER
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things
I cannot change;
the Courage to change the things I can;
and the Wisdom to know the difference.
WHAT IS AN ANGEL BOX?
An Angel Box is a place to give your problems, fears, worries, cares, visions, hopes, and prayers into the care and keeping of the angels and the God of your understanding. It can help you align with your divine destiny and let go of what does not serve you. You can make a special box or use an existing container.
If you do not want to make or use an angel box, you can still read this lesson and create an angel box in your imagination.
You may choose to purchase, build, or create an angel box, depending upon your nature and the amount of time you want to give, or use a folder, an envelope, a bag, or a medicine pouch. Your Angel Box can be elaborate or simple. It doesn’t have to be perfect, so long as it is perfect for you.
If you would like to create your own box, here are some ideas:
1. Use a cardboard box (angels love recycling). Here are some containers that make perfect angel boxes: shoe box, cigar box, an empty tissue or cereal box, a round oatmeal box. You may also buy or build a box. Here is an angel box one of your classmates made. You are welcome to post your angel box photos, too!
2. Gather items to decorate your box, such as photos, pictures from magazines or calendars; pictures of saints, gods, goddesses, angels, fairies; wise sayings; poems, prayers; inspirational words; jewels, crystals, buttons; lace, ribbons, velvet, silk, satin, sequins, sparkles; tiny stars; things from nature like dried flowers; feathers; acorns, seeds, shells, and practical tools like tape, glue, scissors, paints, crayons. If you want to varnish your box when it is complete, use clear varnish.
THE RITUAL OF CREATING YOUR ANGEL BOX
3. Set aside time for you and the angels. Ritual is always nice. Create a nice atmosphere. Maybe brew yourself a cup of soothing tea or hot chocolate, burn incense or candles, play music, or just sing songs to your angels! If you have children, you can invite them to make their own Angel Box with you. Angel Boxes are a great teaching tool for children of all ages.
4. Give your box a lovely lining, maybe velvet, satin, silk, or pretty paper, carefully glued in. As you place this lining inside your box, contemplate your inner beauty. Inner beauty radiates outer beauty. Assure yourself that you are worthy of such a beautiful box. Remind yourself of your inner beauty.
5. Make sure your box has an opening or a removable lid, so you can put your messages inside. Let this symbolize your mind, open and receptive to higher truth and intuition.
6. Decorate your box. Let intuition and creativity guide you. Have fun! Relax! Enjoy yourself. Imagine you are honoring your higher self, as well as the body where your spirit lives.
7. When you are finished, sit back and admire your creation! Smile your happiest smile! Wriggle your body in delight! Laugh right out loud! Dance a happy dance! Jump up and down!
8. Place your Angel Box in a special place, preferably where you will see it every day, maybe on top of a dresser or in your meditation space. Keep a pen and some paper near by to remind you to connect with your angels.
USING YOUR ANGEL BOX
1. Use your box to symbolically let go of trying to control life and to strong attachments to the way you think things should be.
2. Let go of cares and concerns! When there is a problem to which you cannot find a solution, write your worry on a piece of paper, date it, and give it to your angel box. Tell the angels that this problem is beyond your control and you are now turning it over to them.
Special note! If the worry returns during the day, ask yourself, “Is there anything I can do about this right now?” If the answer is no, remind yourself that you have given it into the care and keeping of a higher power. If the answer has changed to yes, then take that action! If you must repeat this process many times, repeat it. This is a way of disciplining your mind so that worries do not control and overwhelm you. It is a way of replacing an unhealthy habit with a healthy one. If you are going to have habits, they may as well be ones that uplift and support you!
3. When you have a question and cannot find an answer, write your question on a piece of paper, date it, and put it in your angel box. Let the question go, trusting the right answer will appear in God’s perfect time and design.
Special note! Date every question so you will have a reference point for later.
4. When you really, really want something (an object, a lover, a goal, anything at all), write your wish on a piece of paper and give it into the safe keeping of the angels with a trustful prayer that God will manifest your desire, only if it is in your highest interest.
Special note! This means surrendering your small will to a higher will. Looking back at your life, you will agree that often what you wanted turned out NOT to be the best for you. Giving your desire to the angels is a way of getting out of your own way and making room for the highest in your life.
5. When you feel afraid, angry, sad, hurt, confused, or any other unhappy emotion, write it on a piece of paper and put it in your box. Tell yourself, “This too shall pass.” Everything does pass! Everything does change into something else. We suffer because our minds create permanency where permanency does not exist.
6. When someone you care about is hurting or sick, write their name on the paper with a special prayer for their perfect healing. Give the outcome to the angels.
7. Use it when you think you are in danger and need a guide. Write down what you think endangers you and ask for angelic guidance. Let your focus be on this guidance, rather than upon what you fear.
8. Request courage to complete necessary tasks. Write down your request, such as, “Please give me the courage to __________. Thank you.”
9. Write messages of gratitude. The attitude of gratitude is always healing. Whenever a wish is fulfilled, answered, understood, or released, write a message of gratitude and place it in your box. Gratitude is healing and powerful. The more gratitude you give, the more you receive. This is universal law.
10. Write your visions. Put them in your box and surrender the outcome to the wisdom of the angels.
Special note! Sometimes we have the divine inspiration to do something, but negative thoughts such as: I can’t do it, Why even try? It won’t work, block constructive action. One way to get past limiting blocks is to take an action. Something as simple as writing down your goal is an action! Putting your goal into your angel box is a second action, which includes the act of faith--faith in a power higher than your mind.
Sometimes you may really want something. You want a certain outcome. Write it down and give it to your angel box. When you do, keep yourself open to all things possible, even the possibility that your desire may not be in your best interest or the one God intends for you. A strong ego desire may block the outcome God intends for you. So place your desire in your angel box with a willingness to let it go and let God’s outcome manifest for you, even if it is not the one you have in mind. Your job is not to MAKE something happen. Life happens through you. The more you get out of your own way, the more creativity can flow through you.
SHOW UP! PLAY! DISCOVER! LEARN! GROW! EVOLVE!
When an idea, an inspiration, a vision comes to you have fun with it! There is no need to get all heavy and serious! Find out where the vision is leading you. Your Angel Box can help you discover where true vision is leading you.
BE OPEN AND RECEPTIVE!
Once you have placed your dreams, wishes, questions, and problems in your Angel Box, stay open! You will be receiving messages from the universe, the angels, and intuition. These messages can come from anywhere when you are aware! The universe is a mystical magical spiritual place. And you live here!
Messages are always coming to you. Intuition is always speaking to you. Often, we do not hear because we have a preconceived idea of how things should turn out, of how messages should come. When you are open and receptive, even the words on a cereal box might contain a message for you! Do your best not to limit the universe by telling it what it should do. This is like telling the stars how they should shine.
LATER: What can you learn from your angel box?
Once a month or so, or when your Angel Box is full, you decide, take out your messages and read them, so that you can monitor what is happening. Which prayers, wishes, and dreams have been fulfilled? Which ones have you forgotten all about? Which ones don’t you care about anymore? Which ones were only ego desires? What do your messages teach you now? What can you learn from what you have written and what has been happening in your life?
1. For wishes and visions that have not been fulfilled, which you realize you no longer wish for, you might like to burn them in a small ritual. Or toss them into the trash. Or fold them into origami, maybe make cranes for good luck!
2. For each problem solved, question answered, and wish fulfilled, you might like to place a tiny jewel in your box, as an offering of thanks. Or buy a string and string a little bead for every wish granted. Or keep your messages somewhere, as a reminder of the good work your higher power has accomplished in your life. Or you could just burn them. Be creative in deciding what you want to do.SOMETHING ELSE YOU CAN DO
Make Angel Boxes as gifts and give them to people you love, along with The Serenity Prayer. You may even give them a copy of this particular lesson, just be sure to include the complete lesson and copyright! This is my Valentine gift to you. Because I am thankful you are here, as a student. I admire that you show up with commitment and dedication to know yourself.
Applying yourself to this lesson can help you to stop suffering needlessly. It can help you release and let go of trying to control what is beyond your control. It can help you make new choices that will allow you to be in peace instead of pain. It can help you have more fun and be less serious. Why not be light, like an angel?
Thank you for reading your lesson to the end. The love and blessings of the angels remain with you now and always. We extend our love and gratitude to the Angels and the True Source of the Infinite Universe for all we have received from this lesson today.
You are amazingly beautiful, powerfully gifted, endlessly creative, and naturally endowed with everything you need to realize your inner perfection. But do not take my word for anything. Keep showing up and doing the work and you will know all of this for yourself.
