What you are receiving here is in direct proportion to what you are giving. If you feel you are not receiving enough, then ask yourself: What am I giving? Am I giving my time? Am I showing up to read my lessons? Do I make the effort to show up here in my Open Classroom? Do I make the extra effort to write something here? Do I practice the homework in my lessons? Do I read the daily messages and contemplate how they apply to my life?
Unlike an ordinary book that you probably read and then put on a shelf and forget, the lessons are alive, vital, here in the present moment. But you must show up. The more you give, the more you will receive. And what you are asked to give is your focus and commitment to your spiritual life. You are asked to give up your false self and let a new self emerge.
You always have your lessons to turn to for wisdom, comfort, guidance, and inspiration. You have the meditations and techniques for relaxation and healing contained herein.
A daily practice of meditation and contemplation, reading spiritual literature, journaling, or whatever takes you to your center today is a way to help yourself tomorrow. Taking care of yourself today is being good to your future self. Then your future self can look back with love and gratitude on who you are today. Is this not a lovely thought?—earning the love and gratitude of your future self! Gratitude opens the heart and increases inner contentment. Gratitude takes you out of the past or future, straight into the present! Gratitude is a way of adding unto the energy of another, not subtracting from it. It is a way of receiving another person and their gifts. It is a way of receiving yourself. Everyone likes to be received.
Even angels love to be received. Angels love gratitude. Angels are grateful when we express gratitude to them because they know how beneficial the energy of gratitude is for us. At the same time, angels do not mind if we never give them credit for their presence in our life. Angels give all credit to God. Angels exist not to glorify themselves, but to glorify God.

Yes! This is so true. I have experienced this for myself. The more I show up, the more I receive. And there is so much to receive! Thank you for working so hard dear teacher to provide so much. And thank you for the constant reminders to show up for myself. I think I am learning a little bit how to be kind to myself.
