7th Day of the Goddess

The 7th Goddess, Kalaratri, is also known as Shubhankari. She is a fearful Goddess to look at: pitch black, disheveled hair, 3 eyes, riding a donkey, and wearing a necklace flashing like lightening! Her right hand is raised to grant boons and her left hand is in the mudra to allay fears. Her other 2 hands hold a sharp weapon made from bones and a bloody dagger.
Shubhankari means a doer of auspicious deeds. It is said that on this 7th day of worship, the seeker reaches the Sahasrara Chakra, and all the door of all Siddhis (spiritual powers) opens. The devotee becomes able to earn all sorts of virtues, sins, obstacles, and the wicked are destroyed. It is said that evil spirits are terrified of her and vanish as soon as the devotee remembers Kalaratri.

Isn't this a wonderful reminder to stay aware and focused upon what is beneficial in our lives, such as angels, God, and Truth? Yes, it is! When we let our mind go outward towards fears and darkness, the mind then takes the form of fear and darkness. When we turn inward, towards the bright inner light, all fear is vanquished!
