Your vision will become clear only when you look inside your heart; who looks outside dreams; who looks inside awakens. -C.G.Jung

Dancing to freedom!
The youtube link below a good one, which I just found when I was researching Gabrielle Roth (Feb. 4, 1941-Oct. 22, 2012) on the internet, because of a quote I posted on Nov. 29, 2014, which someone just sent me the rest of. Here is the past classroom post. http://youropenclassroom.blogspot.com/2014/11/spiritual-shamanism.html
I've been thinking we often sit too much in my seminars and have been contemplating ways we can move more. Shamanic Dancing sounds like a wonderful way! I do more and more use Qigong and Yoga, but the idea of dancing is so free and easy and anyone can do it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cYYzcTzm6Y
Someone just sent me the rest of the quote I posted previously, which I like very much, so here is the whole quote now: (Her email to me is what prompted me to begin researching Gabrielle Roth--who has an interesting story)
"In many shamanic societies, if you came to a shaman or medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of four questions:
1. When did you stop dancing?
2. When did you stop singing?
3. When did you stop being enchanted by stories?
4. When did you stop finding comfort in the sweet territory of silence?
Where we have stopped dancing, singing, being enchanted by stories, or finding comfort in silence is where we have experienced the loss of soul. Dancing, singing, storytelling, and silence are the four universal healing salves." -The Four-Fold Way: Walking the Paths of the Warrior, Healer, Teacher and Visionary

Albert Einstein said, “A human being is part of the whole, called by us Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest—a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal decisions and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security.”

Inner Transformation
Reading your
lessons helps you wake up. Reading your lessons is a way to commune with a
consciousness that is greater than the mind. The words of the angels are so
subtle and soft, the ego begins to feel safe—safe to dissolve, let go, and
surrender into peace. The deepest transformation takes place so simply and
quietly, the mind does not even realize it has happened!

Somewhere
Somewhere in the music
Somewhere in the song
lies the key to life itself
so far as I can know now
it has to do with love.
Love is Magic, Love is God
Love is Music, Love is Purity
Love is Light, Love is Music
Music is Love, Music is Light
Light is Love, Love is Light
God is Love, Love is God
Music is God, God is Music
You and I are God, God is Love
We are Music, Beauty is Peace
Peace is Love, Love is Peace
We are God's Love and Light
Somewhere in the Music
We live forever.

The Ride
Put the ego in the back seat
sit high and free
with love in the seat beside you
breathing as one
in perfect harmony
carefree
and continue
moment to moment
in love
you'll see things
as never before
you'll see things
you've never seen before
you'll see things
you never knew existed
the ride will be short
yet it'll last forever.

Remember?
Remember the feeling as a child,
When you woke up
And morning smiled…..?
It’s time you felt like that again.
When you woke up
And morning smiled…..?
It’s time you felt like that again.

Lemons
I like seeing the cheery yellow lemons each time I come into the open classroom. Reminds me of that saying -- if you are given lemons, then make lemonade!!! Thanks for the reminder, dear teacher. Love, Kevin

Saying hello
I just wanted to stop by and write a few words, though I haven't much to say. Mostly I am doing a great deal of self-observation. I see myself and others in new ways. I can feel something happening deep inside me, that I haven't even got words for. I have for some time felt quiet and introspective, so I haven't even been writing here lately, though I am always stopping by to read and inhale all the great energy I feel here. The lessons are great. They touch me deep inside and actually are effective. Thank you once again.

The Clear and Simple Way Newsletter May 2015
Have you read the newest Newsletter? If you didn't receive yours in your email box, let me know, and I will make sure you do! Here is a picture of the Arroyo in Pasadena where I often walk. As you can see, the flowers are out and so is the green.
A healthier sweet...Black Bean Brownies
This recipe is from doTerra oils, so the oils used here can be consumed. Your classmate, Darlene, sells doTerra (essential healing oils) (which I have experienced great success with!) I haven't made these brownies myself, so if you do, let me know how they taste! I have eaten red bean ice cream in Little Tokyo which is delicious. And black bean sweets, also wonderful.
Black bean brownies are a delicious and nutritious twist to a traditional chocolate brownie. You might be nervous about baking with black beans, but don’t be–they have a very mild flavor and are extremely rich, creamy, and full of protein. You can also boost the flavor of your brownie with essential oils such as Peppermint, Wild Orange, Cinnamon, or even Lavender.
Ingredients:
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained, and rinsed
2 large eggs
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2/3 cup honey
1/3 cup coconut oil
½ teaspoon baking powder Pinch of salt
4 drops Peppermint essential oil
¾ cup chocolate chips, divided
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Place all ingredients, except for chocolate chips, in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
3. Pour batter into large bowl and stir in ½ cup chocolate chips.
4. Pour into greased 8×8-inch pan and top with ¼ cup chocolate chips.
5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Let cool and cut into pieces. Store in refrigerator.
