Poem To Myself

When in doubt
Be kind
I can be firm and still be kind
I can be honest and still be kind
I can tend the little seeds of kindness within me
I can shine sunshine when the world seems dark
So the tiny seeds of kindness within me
Are not afraid to grow
Right up to where my smile lives
I can close my eyes
And breathe kindness in

I can let kindness fill me
There is no benevolent reason
For meeting hostility with hostility
No kind reason for perpetuating little wars
God knows there's more than enough war
Out there already.
